yo im from the desert this sounds intense what does this mean ? im getting the storm part but it seems more urgent than just that lmao ive never really been around boats or sailing
So basically a Special Marine Warning can be pretty intense for smaller boats but can occasionally be intense for bigger boats as well. It can be pretty urgent because It’s good for boaters to know when strong to severe thunderstorms are on the way to open waters so that they can get safety on land in advance
And guys I apologize about the audio quality of this video. The good news is I found an external microphone that works great for siren tests, and I am planning to use it for future siren videos.
Unfortunately, it is both the 100s and 300s that get tuner issues. However, on both models, if the serial number begins with 10, 11, or 12, (or higher on the WR300s), they should be immune to those problems. I have a V5 WR300 from 2010, with a serial number beginning with 10, and it’s been great. I also have a V8, which I got in 2020, and it’s a solid radio, just not quite as good as the V5.
I was not expecting that either. I thought to myself when I heard this particular radio’s alert tone for the first time (this radio randomly started working again a few weeks ago) “oh my god the decoder works” because I didn’t know if the decoder worked.
This directly replaced the Thunderbolt 1003 that was just down the road from this back in 2009. The Thunderbolt 1003 including a few others were confirmed to be installed in the early 1990s.
Yep. I actually saw the old pole that is the only remains of the thunderbolt 1003. I drove by it when parking near the t-128. Pretty sure it’s now just being used as a regular power pole.
