Thanks for sharing! I heard that the real reason for Groundhogs Day was created by The Pennsylvania Dutch. It was considered a delicacy to eat the groundhog and it kept population down. 😊
It’s actually hay. They claim straw is better, since they harvest all of the seed from the wheat or oats before they harvest the straw. Where in hay they leave all the dried seeds on the grasses when they harvest the hay so it can make your garden more weedy. Our garden is already really weedy so I wasn’t concerned about it. The hay I’m using is from a round bale we bought for our animals, but got too dusty.
When we make lard it is nothing like that we cook outside in a 20 gallon pot keep it low and slow and we get about 15 gallons per cooking and when you get lard too a liquid state it will not have any water in it
I started my own cooking channel and just came across your channel while doing some research. I love your videos. I subscribed and look forward to more of your videos.
I’m not a fan of pickled eggs🥴 it’s smelling ripe in y’all’s house🤣🤣 I absolutely loooove your pink canning shirt! I need one😆 We’ve been stocking up on jars and found a nice sale of them online at Wal Mart. We just ordered an electric Nesco canner to start canning our carrots, collard greens, cabbage and really everything we grow. Are you familiar with an electric canner? We definitely aren’t and the only thing we’ve ever canned was blueberry jelly and pickles, which we water bath canned them.I hope you and your hubby had a Happy Thanksgiving❤
We had a great Thanksgiving, thanks for asking! I hope you guys did as well. I have heard of the electric canners, and I would like to own one at some point. My friend got me that shirt and I absolutely love it! Thanks for your continued support on our channel. I appreciate it all of your comments and views and look forward to them.
This winter you will have good healthy food! We are in the process of cleaning out our gardens to plant garlic for the first time. I enjoyed your videos!
Looks good girl! I hope you get to feeling better soon🙏🏼 We are amending our soul right now in between seasons but we have our onion, lettuce, cabbage and collard greens seedlings sprouting in the trays right now so I can’t wait til we are eating those👏🏼We will be planting our garlic next month and can’t wait for it too!
You have such a great variety growing and soo much. Great looking garden. We have our cabbage, collard green, lettuce, onion seedlings sprouting right now in the seed trays. We have our speckled butterbeans growing locally ie crazy now and been harvesting some here and there freezing them. And our Lima beans are taking off on our 36ft long archway trellis,it’s soo pretty. And bell peppers out the Yang Yang lol. It’s our slow time right now and feels good cause this year we had cherry tomatoes at the arch trellis befire the beans and they kicked our butts😆we made soo much salsa and froze. Soo glad to be done with tomatoes and next year will be planting Rutger tomatoes instead of the smaller tomatoes😂 the squash bugs started getting bad with our yellow squash and zucchini so we pulled them up and fed them to the cows.We have a lot in the freezer. We are getting a pressure canner this year so we can learn to can so we can free up space in our deep freezer. It gets out of hand really fast as you know I’m sure. Just love your ducks. We have been drying out our cayenne peppers so we can grind them up making powder. We dried our basil and grinding it also and compared it to store bought and it’s crazy how homemade smells soo much better than store bought. Great looking garden girl😍
Those are some beautiful carrots! And a good looking dinner, yum! My hubby loves some fried potatoes and onions. We make poppers with our lunchbox peppers we grow and cook them in the airfryer after sprinkling some Montreal Grillmates on top, gives a really good flavor. Your ducks and goats are soo cute.
The rain killed my tomatos, and cucumber s. The extreme heat in the early summer made my carrots, spinach, and radishes bolt. I did replant those in late summer and was able to restore what I lost. Your garden is fantastic! It was so fun watching yours grow like crazy! I am looking forward to watching the harvest and storing. Even if it takes a while to get up.
Thank you! I do have some videos in the works, just have to find the time to edit and upload. I’m glad you were able to do a second planting and get some of your losses back.
