Love all of your WIPS - When it come to Confetti Stitching - this is what I do - I will only do one or two Columns within that 10 x 10 Block. Than I will put it up until the next day. The next day I will do another 2 or 3 Columns within that Block. Then put it away until the next day. I will keep doing this until that 10 x 10 Block is Finished. This way I do not get tired of it and I won’t get burn out on it. I do not quit on a project due to Confetti Stitching. I just take my time and work on that project. Do you have any tips about how you stitch so quickly? It seems like you can get a lot of stitches done during your evening stitching time! Usually I can do only about 100 per hour, depending on whether it is blocks of color or confetti. So you use a roller frame? Hoop? Stitching in hand?
Hi! 100 stitches an hour is fast. You're rockin it! I use a nurge hoop. The closer my hands are to the work the faster I can go. I use a length of thread that doesn't take forever to pull. In block areas I do the dutch method. One leg across, double back for the second leg. I try to have few distractions. I sit comfortably with a lap frame so my I'm not reaching for my work. I'm cozy and relaxed so I can move faster. I find a rhythm and try to move my hands quickly if I want to get to a high number that day. I also do have in hand projects that I can just fly on. I use the sewing method on in hand projects and can get a length of thread done in like 5-8 minutes. That's about 30 full stitches on 18ct for me. Other little things that help me is a good foundation. That might mean I need gridded fabric or need to count the surrounding areas well so I know my work is in the right spot, and I can trust that anything I add will not need to be frogged. I also go back and forth between high confetti and block. It keeps me motivated to just keep going. I hope that helps. Let me know if I can answer any other questions. Hugs! Stephanie

Just because it's an older video doesn't mean it's not worthwhile. I use a combination of both the bobbins and the floss bags. I put the floss on the bobbins too easily store them in the bobbin container. When getting up a project or using a kit I put the floss in the floss bags on the ring and then they are not loose in my project bag

Yay! I know I'm always late to the party on updates. lol. I am loving cookie delivery. I'm working with 819 right now, and it is a little harder to see next to the white that's already there. So slowed down a bit, but that's ok. Still love it! I will make some of the floss drops! I think they will be great for all kinds of things. I just love that I can sit in the car on where ever and have everything I need without thinking about looking for a color. It was a good stitching month. And yes, it was so sweet he stopped at home. I thought he might not be feeling good or he needed something, but nope just wanted to give me a hug and talk to me. Love it! Hope you are doing well. I still need to catch your WIP parade. LOL! That was fun! I stitched on Blanket Fort while listening/ watching....i didnt get nearly as much done as you though! 🤣 When you described your life BEFORE AC, that is my current living situation! 🤣 doors open first thing to get a cross breeze, as soon as its hotter outside than inside, we close everything up....and lately it hasnt even been cooling off much in the evening so we cant open the doors back up🤷♀️....crazy summer! I use snack/sandwich bags to store my floss. I use small address labels and I enter the color number using my computer and printer. I have an old luggage makeup bag my mom gave me to put all my floss in.
I love that you store them in an old bag your mom gave you. I have a few floss bags from when my mom used them and I refuse to get rid of them. Her handwriting makes me smile. Enjoyed stitching along with you - I was working on my Beauty and the Beast 2017 from Tilton Crafts. I love chatty SwM as I feel I get to know you a little better. However a mix is fine too. An easy way to find the 1 strand to pull out is to hold the strands with the tip up (gently pinch the strands with one finger & thumb about 1/4 " below the top end of the strands) tap on it with the other hand's finger (I use my index finger tip pad) and watch as it separates the strands, then pull out the one you want.

Hello! I am currently using this storage system and love it! However, I’m a new stitcher and I have a question if you don’t mind me asking. How do you know how much of a skein you have leftover in a baggie? I’m currently working on my first full coverage project and should have thread left to use on another, but I don’t know how to determine if I have enough left of my used skeins or not for my second project. Hi There! That's a great question! It's a little hard to answer, but I'll do my best. I'll do a video for you too. :) Each project uses a different amount depending on the size fabric I'm stitching on. So I use a floss calculator that tells me roughly how much floss I need for each color. I can also look at a skein and decide by how much is left from a previous project from how full it looks against the wrapper. A full skein is tight, 3/4 is slightly loose, 1/2 is super loose but the wrapper stays, and 1/4 it's hard to keep the wrapper on any more. But, here's the easiest way. Precut your floss to a length you like, count how many lengths and write it down somewhere that makes sense to you. You can then later count how many lengths you have left so you can determine if you have enough for the next project. Some people just use what they have until they run out or almost run out, and just toss a new one in there. I hope this is helpful! Let me know if you would like to chat more. :) Hugs! Steph

storage DMC threads is very problematic... we must chose the storage which we like but also practical... I put mine on DMC cardboard, it's OK for me but maybe I will change in the futur... DMC cardboard are not solid. Today I re organize all threads by number instead of color. It's better for search
