It is a very strange feeling when watching these footages, a kind of nostalgia for something I have never experienced. I wish I could have been born in another time to see the real Mayhem and meet Pelle and Oystein in person. RIP both.
Stop talking bullshit. Venom dudes never were satanic, just like Bathory (Tomas Forsberg). It was a gimmick. Period. What happened shortly after in the black metal scene was because of motherfuckers like Mayhem, Emperor, Burzum, Darkthrone, Watain and many others edgy psychopaths that took the whole satanic question seriously.

I remember walking around East Oakland listening to Hammerheart and thinking this was the best music i had ever heard, lol. A 16 year old Black kid singing along to Viking metal had to look strange as fuck but this was the crack era so nobody cared, lol
great for the subtities , i never seen swedish TV doing something about bathory and quorthon, something aside, even though is hard to tell them apart, i always felt swedish language more punchier and heavy accented and norwegian more soft and breathy, which is kind of amusing due to their metal stories,
That’s what we Swedes would say about our languages as well, really. Norwegian is more sing-songy and there’s a joke about how one can’t sound threatening in Norwegian since it sounds so positive and goofy.
