Dollar General. Floor looked dirty. Items crowding the aisles. I stopped going to Dollar General to shop years ago after seeing the quality of it declining.
I worked at Dollar General for 4 years, finally quit after those years. So glad I left. All their "policies" are a joke. Had the same issues. Recovery over helping customers. Had customers curse me out harshly over having to wait even 30 seconds. Glad I'm done with DG. I quit back in 2019.
I got stupid write ups at my shit dollar store job. #2write up.. for 10$ short in my drawer, my manager found it in the morning in the back where the drawer goes. Cuz the money clamps all broken on they 1980s McDonald's looking register. Hated that job. Socks being alone at the register with security tags on every cheap clothing item. Every basic clothing item with a pos security tag on it. So pointless. Kid manager thought it was cute to put that darn pos security tag on 8 pairs of crappy socks. Never got that security tag off.
I found this video - I just quit there after 2 days - you did a lot longer than me - no freaking way was I able to push the freaking rolltainer of milk from the back room clear thru the freaking store to the refrigerator section - I couldn’t barely push it - it was so freaking heavy & above my view - why can’t the milk be brought thru the freaking front door!!!! This happened on day 2 - while the manager was yelling & looking for the other worker - WTF?
I worked at dollar general for 3 months. Shit was horrible and chaotic cause 1) the manager was (and is) a cunt and 2) you are expected to both run register, stock, and recover products. It’s not fair.
When I was working there. Not only was it my first job. But I wasn’t properly trained as to what goes where. I did the best I could at register. But it wasn’t enough.
So this is all because of you crying because you had to do recovery? boohoo.. i work at dollar general now and not only do i recover i stock and have no issues at all with getting to customers in a short time

Iv been working here for a week its been alright maybe because i jus do recovery/go backs ,cart returns and not casier but yea some shift supvisors are stricter then others but its been good overall
It's 2022 and Dollar General is still like this in every aspect still. More so with the part of leaving you register unattended. Most customers do not understand the stores situation of being under staffed. They expect to be rung up when at the counter, not wondering where there cashier is.
Alright I have to speak..... I work for dg and I can honestly say I love my job and all our customers and when I am recovering I always make a point to check my registrar every 3 to 5 minutes and I get my customers quickly and they are all satisfied. I don't understand why all the negative sayings because I think its the worker and how much they love their job......
I’m most likely gonna lose my job there (and I’ve only worked there for 2 days) because I never got my schedule. They called me asking why haven’t I showed up and all, I told them that I didn’t get my schedule. I meant to ask the day I went but we got so busy, it didn’t cross my mind and I was already stressed out enough. I just came in and did my part. Showed me around a bit more to help me and whatnot. But If I had my schedule, then I’d go to work, but I’m not since I don’t have it. So they’ll moist likely fire me, but a part of me don’t really care. It was already hard on me on my first two nights there, mainly my second one. So I’m just done.
i have worked at dollar general for 6 months now. you would have done much better if you just stayed busy... doing what YOU think your job should entail and not giving 2 shits what your manager, coworker, or DM think. my schedule changes 2 or 3 times a week. my store has 4 asst manager and they were all hired in as asst manager. all female. im the only guy at store. im crippled with badknees. i brought in a folding stool. and a doctors letter instructing them to let me sit when necessary. the DM told me to contact HR to see if they would accomadate me. i ignored him. 2 months later he did it. after i already started sitting whenever i need. i told them give me a dollar a hour raise or i walk. got it. look man.. you are young. im 50. fuck dollar general. fuck the Customers IF they wanna be assholes. i know many of my customers and have never had a attitude from any of them. its how you carry yourself. and the truth isif you stay busy, dont miss work and are reliable .... they need you far more than you need them. if you arent working, and theres no one reliable to cover your shift... the manager does it. they make salary. they get samepay if they work 48 hrs a week, or 90. there is a lot of power you can wield by not giving a shit
I agree with everything in this video. This truly is a piece of shit company. I busted my ass for 3 years for this awful company and recently, LP FALSELY ACCUSED me of stealing and fired me. He said i ate and drank food and drinks without paying. Umm no. We had free water, and my co-worker would sometimes buy me a little debbie snack when she was on break. I would sometimes eat it later or eat it then. I told the LP dumbass this, but it wasn't good enough for him. They only see what they want to see. He more or less forced me to sign a statement saying I did things I didn't. He came back an hour later with the District manager and they made up the most bullshit excuses and fired me for things I didn't do. This pisses me off so bad. Yes, I'm finally free from this awful company, but we had a literal DRUNK at our store who got away with stealing probably over 2k worth of money over the span of a MONTH and she was just fired by the store manager. Meanwhile, a guy who did no wrong was fired by LP and the district manger. SMFH!!!! good riddance dollar general he also bitched that I had the most voids and transaction aborts. well... IM ALWAYS ON THE MAIN REGISTER AT NIGHT TIME THE BUSIEST TIME OF THE DAY AND BY MYSELF FOR A FEW HOURS BEFORE HELP ARRIVES!!! also the registers are so outdated that they freeze every 15-20 transactions. but once again LP dumbass didn't understand. It was too much for his little pea brain to handle. IDK maybe try actually working in one of these stores before you start accusing people of things they didn't do. and the best part, The part that beyond a shadow of a doubt just screams that I am innocent is the DM says, "You can still come back here to shop, It's not like you're banned from the store". and honestly, I have a feeling deep down that they will call me back and beg me to come back. I have done so much for this place and they just throw me aside like this. DG is such an awful company anyway that sooner or later they are going to have to resort to hiring back "not for re-hire" people.
Did anybody catch that he was instructed to write his own “resignation?” Sounds like he also won’t get unemployment. Additionally if he was on the clock while subordinating………. Should that be considered legitimate?
I totally agree with you the accuracy is astounding I feel like I’m hearing my story while I’m listening they just made me come to work you know I was sick and wouldn’t even let me go to the doctor I told him I’d even bring them back a note and then they left me there by myself for hours on in 🤬🤬😠

To keep this list 'Brief', lets just go over the Sayians. Goku's Sayian name is: Kakarot a pun on Carrot for his Orange Color. Raditz: a pun on Radish. Bardock: a pun on a Japanese root vegetable, "Burdock". Nappa: a Japanese pun for Greens in general, also a form of Cabbage. Broly: a pun on Broccoli. Paragas: a pun on Asparagus Vegeta, the Prince of Sayians, is the first 6 letters of Vegetable. And so on. Even the name: "Sayian" is a rearranging of the word "Yasai" which means Vegetables in Japanese. You can further research Dragon Ball Puns on your own time. Just know that nearly every character has a pun for a name.
It enrages me hearing the DM try to explain why it's ok for customers to have to wait. A billion dollar company cant hire an extra position for just recovery.

I have a decent fulltime job. Thought I get a part time gig at DG for extra cash .. They told me 12 an hour 3rd key holder 2 days a week. First day was just 2 hours filling out forms on the computer showing me around the store was told 9.75 for the first week. Then next week the $12 an hour would kick in. I told the manager then I will start working next week. I don't think I'm going back after watching this video and reading all the bad reviews on Indeed. Was supposed to work this Wednesday 12:30 to 10 busting my hump for 9.75 an hour oh Hell no even 12 is ridiculous.
When you and the DM where talking and he said what he did about apologizing to the customer saying you didn't seen them, like DUDE if you are put ON cashier duty YOUR whole dam job for that day unless manager or assistant manager says differently YOU do cashier duty and recover front of store BY THR FUCKING REGISTER. That whole businesses is one crooked store. The only reason they stay in business is because customers feed off those coupons. I worked in retail stores for a good bit and if you are ASSIGNED register duty your job unless told other wise is to check customers out, recover and stock items up front near the register where you can see customers and they can see you. I have interview today at DG for ASM but hearing about the hours being like 5 or so AS FULL-TIME yea.....I'm gonna pass
I'll be honest my store was never that stressful. The customers are understanding, and the team I work for makes things work out. The biggest thing with recovery, pace yourself (Start early) if you start early you won't be stressing about getting it done and will have plenty of time for your other work (Cleaning). Also you manager on shift is suppose to help you recover if you're having a hard time getting it done.
