Come here to see the latest news from the Stella Adler Studio of Acting and to see performances from our students, as well as special guests talks from our events.
Stella was more ' method' than anyone. She worked with the confidence of the actor. Sadly, I never studied with her but with some of her early students.
Marlon thought highly of Stella and what he learned from her classes. As for Lee, Marlon felt the guy was full of himself and his teachings weren't useful to realism for acting.
Watching the video, I truly feel proud from the bottom of my heart that I have the DNA of Stella Adler spirit. Also, this video is too good for words to describe. Up until today, I believe that we Japanese humanity have lost sight, or are facing a thick wall that we have never experienced before. In order to resolve this phase through art, I would like to share the spirit of Stella Adler with as many Japanese actors as possible, keeping in mind Adler's words, "Growth as an actor and growth as a human being are synonymous.
Stella Adler Studio gave me confidence as an actor and person. It is a community of love and empowerment. I am an ulumni of 1993 and so proud of training there. The most pivotal point of my life.
Well done - this video captured the essence of the mission of this studio - glad that I could be a part of it in any capacity. I'm forever grateful for my time at Stella Adler and the community it fosters. It's always all love for my fellow and future Adlerites!
This is FANTASTIC! What a beautiful representation of how it feels to be supported as a student at this school with passionate, professional artists! I took Acting Technique and Scene Study this past year at the NYC campus, what a transformative experience and a dream come true! Can’t wait to return!
This school transformed me at a molecular level. I cannot express how grateful I am to these teachers and to all the friends for life I made along the way. Thank you Stellaaaaa
The question re the Classics is interesting too - with Odets and then shortly Arthur Miller, there will soon be American classics to do in the theatre!
Brando touts Stella Adler and pretty much rejects Strasberg’s approach. I recommend the recentish book ‘The Method’ - it’s fascinating and detailed about the beginnings of the group, Stanislavsky, the Moscow Theatre. It doesn’t do as well on the recent dudes (DeNiro, Pacino, etc.) but it covers the origins really well.
@50:15. In 2024 it's, "here's some Xanax son; calm down;" we're probably not going to see any meaningful writing or acting in this Anti-depressant Age; "why act? Take Zoloft" 😆
@45:40 this would be considered over-acting in today's Heroin-Fentanyl-Oxytocin world of 2024. And directors don't want this type of acting and it's a shame.
The young guy at 50:00 was interesting, but I was really wanting to hear him lower his voice and speak to him on a deeper level, rather than just yelling yelling and screaming. His body language was already aggressive, his voice need not be that too
Hi! This is a video specifically about our Teen Conservatory program for actors ages 14-18. Our other videos showcase a variety of ages in our adult training programs.
What this documentary oh so conveniently omits is that The Group was intentionally founded upon the principles of Communism, and most of the original 28 members were notorious Reds. ❤
I love her so much. So grateful this is made available to everyone. This content is not JUST for thespians, but for human beings. Long live ART by and for beating hearts.❤❤️🩵💙💜🧡💛🖤💚🩶🤎🤍❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
