Wow, that’s a lot of different types of journal dangles - very inventive! I just use beads and charms to make dangles usually (recovered from bits of costume jewellery) but I have been trying to include buttons with shanks on them. A little pedestrian but now you’ve given me lots of ideas - I know I have some air-dry clay in the grandkids craft boxes! Thanks for sharing Michel!

New subscriber. Good for you on having such a handy husband. I am the handyman/woman in the family. Unfortunately,I am not as handy as your husband. I have a similar system and just use cardboard trays I get cans of cat food in. 😁. I have them on shelves. Is it perfect, no, but I like pulling out a tray and having it at my desk. I also have my stamps in binders. I put my metal dies in binders, also. I have some in the Tim Holtz binders. But those can be to pricy. So I just use a cardboard sheet in a page protector and adhere a magnet to the cardboard. It works great, however a word of advice, don’t fill the binders up so much that they are to heavy. Some binders may only have 5 die sets in it. I also keep my used/opened package of stickers and die cuts, in binders. I adhere them on wax paper and use repositionable adhesive. I like all your homemade shelves. It is a great way to fit your needs. Thanks for the inspirational ideas and tour.

Hello and welcome to the channel-we’re glad you’re here! This is Erin. Both Mom and Dad are so resourceful! I love your idea of using the cardboard trays from cat food-I’ll bet that’s a great size! I like using the cardboard boxes that my toner comes in. I cut the top off and reinforce the ends with tape. Makes a great size to divide cube shelves! I agree on limiting the weight in the binders-they can get a bit too unwieldy and heavy to heft around the work space if you’re not careful. They can also get a gator mouth and not line up on the shelf very well!

It was fiddly but really interesting - I’d certainly be willing to try it but with my luck there would be blood! I’ve been die cutting like mad since I got my Big Shot for Christmas and my husband hates the bits of paper that somehow coat the kitchen floor. I’m not sure metal bits would go down well but it’s another thing to die cut with: we don’t drink much soda so I will have to scrounge some! Thanks for sharing this Michel.
@michelemrich1598
@michelemrich1598 5 месяцев назад
Your welcome! Yes no blood needed! I actually did cut myself once pretty badly a few years ago trying to cut a plastic jar! My family won’t let me forget that either! I’m glad you enjoyed it! If you do try it, let us know how it goes. ❤️

Way to fiddly for this one, but they were beautiful. When I hope punch with my pokey tool, I punch into a paperback book. Less likely to cause myself injury.

Hi! Welcome to the channel! This is Erin. A binder with some sort of pocket insert (page protectors, pencil cases, baseball card or photo album pages) is probably my favorite story solution!

Friendly FYI, that scrapbook binder that your stamps are in is hard to come by. Peeps who still scrapbook will pay nearly $50 for those. If you decide to get rid of it, it is a resell item not a donate item. 😮

I loved this project. Have you tried using a bit of masking or scotch tape to separate the backing from your washi and stubborn stickers? I have no fingernails so that works for me. I like to have similar but different things in my journals. I'll be excited to see the finished product! I'm working on 2 journals that didn't get done in January. However, the big project is to organize my craft room.

Keep going Shawna! Like anything, it takes practice. We all need time to develop our own style. Try challenging yourself by choosing some small projects where you put colors together that you might not normally, or bring in a material that you’re not sure goes and see what you can do to make it work. If it looks awful, oh well! It was fun and it was just practice! But over time, you’re learning and developing those creative muscles!

The gifted journal was really sweet, your friend is so gifted! Your own make is rather a stunner too, especially with that bright floral headband - for a moment I thought you were going to say it was a garter 🤣! My husband thinks I’m mad when I look at packaging and see potential!
