@@alexwang982 I have to agree. I wish people realized this fact. Heck, some even argued that European short prods would be much more useful in tight formation situation. But imo, that's just bs. Most heavy crossbowmen were behind cowering their pavises, which were thick enough compared to bunch of chinese crossbowmen drawing their crossbow with their feet. So what I did was to show them Roman and early medieval crossbows made out of composite material. And with prods as long as shortbow.
