I just happened upon this because I’ve been obsessed with this song all of a sudden even though I’ve known it for 24 years. The fact that this record full of disgusting lyrics won all those Grammies is hilarious and really under appreciated.
I became one of the Biggest 2Pac fans in 1993 when his " KEEP YA HEAD UP" MTV premiere video was released in October 1993. I was 11 years old and that song and video was 100% relatable to me single mother on welfare kicking up dust thinking who the Hell cares .
No listen lyrics because..... only 17,2 % songs are with english lyrics. Listen musicaans skills . Drummer, guitaarist and vocalist skil to sing high and low notes. Thanks a lot. Yes that protest lyrics song.
For me some people are actually demons not human literally. My grandfather help liberate Bergen belson. For what in England now children raped and killed by foreigners.
Thats what i loved about Pac from the begining He spoke directly from heart to heart, you could feel his pain, he was honest and direct. Back in 1992, when I was 12, I admired him for how he could express himself at such a young age, how intelligent he was and how profound. For me, his music was and is always for all those who are always fighting, who dare to be different and get beaten up for it, who have been screwed over by their closest friends and family and have to make it on their own, who have been treated unfairly but also that you should not just survive but also live. Now, at 44, I still feel it and I am proud to have been a true fan and admirer of this artist and person for so long. His death back in 1996, when I was 16 and had just left school, hit me hard and I cried a lot. In the village where I come from, where there are no foreigners, I was often bullied and insulted for this taste in music, but for me Those were the best 90s and good for my development. Thanks Pac from a true Fan from Eastgermany !!!
Thank you for the honesty and understanding this band is teaching you things you need to know so it never happens again you won't learn this in school. They were very brave to put this out. In my humble opinion ❤🤘💥F ?**??* Slayer
Germany was forced to leave the pages open. Most nations have closed the book on their uncomfortable genocidal past and buried that shit deep. Germany shows us we all have evil and good inside. Choose to be kind world. ❤ Slayer are ok 😅
Lol, I’ve always felt this way when I listen to Slayer. They are bad ass though! That break down you mimicked is probably the baddest riff I can think of in Metal! Slayer is just bringing attention to the terrors and horrors of Auschwitz. They aren’t sympathetic to the Nazis.
Dom wijf!..
Your not supposed to enjoy. , it's a history lesson masked as music. Be horrified , be sickend by this thing. Slayer didn't glorify this horror, they just reminded you it happened. 😊
Anyone who knows Slayer from the first album to this day and grew up with them knows that they do not glorify National Socialism and have never glorified it. I'm pleased that Daniel approaches the matter in a positive way with this macabre part of the story and the processing of this song without denouncing it negatively. That's why, as a Slayer fan since 1984, I have paid great respect to Daniel.
and here's something most people don't even grasp, he was supposed to pull through and live, after the Vegas shooting, the doctor stated that clearly, he was stablelized, but after day 6 in the hospital the same day Snoop showed up to visit him with one Kevin Gaines, the corrupt LA cop who was on "special assignment that night in Vegas and all over the MGM surveillance video, and dating Sharitha Knight's GF, Suge's woman mind you is the same day Tupac started failing and going into cardiac arrest, many people speak of this, he was trying to communicate something to his friends, that he was in danger, or that someone was in the room that he didn't want, and that's the same day Snoop showed up with Kevin Gaines, and remember Snoop stayed out of Vegas that night, yet his bodyguard was there, and Snoop even said he leaned in close and whispered into Tupac's ear, and we all assume that it was something positive, well it could of been negative, they were beefing hard at the time, so bad Snoop was in fear for his life, he was trying to get off the label, as was Tupac, and Pac fired David Kenner before that trip and ends up shot in Vegas, remember Orlando Anderson, the crip that they jumped at the casino before the shooting? he was a compton crip, known to the authorities, and the gang unit, headed up by reggie wright sr, he's on the surveillance video monitoring Orlando as his son head of security for tupac that night, Orlando was planted there, or told to be there, so when they jumped him they had a suspect to blame it on, he didn't shoot Tupac, let alone kill him, Cops shot tupac, off duty cops working for Death Row and that fight at the casino was a big setup, Snoop even said he threw up his stomach at the hospital, did they poison his IV??? he even says it in this song, so Tupac knew, he was very wise
I think the best example of an incredible song that I enjoy, that's also about an unimaginable horror, has to be Silent Scream. For those not familiar, it's a song from the perspective of an unborn child as its undergoing the process of medically induced abortion. It also switches to the perspective of the mother for a few moments, describing the intrusiveness of the procedure. Given that I can't experience either (being already born and a guy) I still feel like Slayer somehow conveyed a part of the terror and feeling of violation that such an experience must inflict.
The holocaust was absolutely horrific...little known fact there was a corporation that made a request to the nazis for 150 extremely healthy young women... The nazis obliged and shipped off the girls...3 weeks later, there was another request for even more women...BECAUSE THEY RAN OUT...the women were raped experimented on by injections and tortured for non compliance...that wonderful corporation was BAYER
The hardest thing, as a 60 year old woman, was to hear Mr know not of what he speaks. She WAS a victim. I am one of 6 daughters who watched our mother be beaten. Until she started pushing us in front of her, so, unless you’ve been there, please stop talking. It IS because of them. We had no choices. It informs everything you do for the rest of your life. And not talking about how the culture in which we were raised (the south), women had and still, have , fewer choices. Bitch, please. You couldn’t stand in my shadow.
My grandfather and uncle were also murdered in Auschwitz, I also felt discomfort when I first heard this song - it's normal in our cases. I've been a Slayer fan for 35 years
Hit the nail on the head about dark artistry. Transgression with thought behind it can be incredibly powerful and change the way we think about things. I think that's important in society. I think the fascination with the macabre - as with humour is the very basic life affirmation of being glad it's not you, it's a momentary "hey, I'm pleased to be alive". I think Nazis are - and no excusing it, but somehow destined to be Nazis, like serial killers they're a very unfortunately symptom of where society has failed and regardless of art "Angel of death", they're gonna be Nazis. It definitely needs addressing on a social, educational and government level - it' be nice to not have serial/spree killers you know, but blaming the artist for "challenging work" is bull poop. It's comparing apples and oranges, but I don't think "Angel of death" is any less culturally important than Schindler's List.
