Thank you everyone for your nice comments. It was fun making this video and it brought back many great memories. I have lived and stayed in cabins like the one in this video, completely off the grid. I spent 20 years living and working in this region of Colorado. I knew a few old sheepherders that lived on the mountain and even owned thousands of acres up there. Those were different days. I knew the woman who owned the whole mesa where the Telluride International Airport is now located. Her family owned most of the land down the other side of the mountain clear to Ridgway. Their ancestors are buried in a little cemetery along the highway below Telluride. I have visited those gravesites a few times when passing by. I looked at the people buried there as part of my family. I have been caught hiking and backpacking on a 13,000 ft plus elevation mountainside in these Colorado Rockies between Telluride and Silverton when there was an intense electrical storm and nowhere to seek cover, certainly not under any trees. So I covered myself with a rainproof poncho and got into a low spot on the side of a hill, totally exposed, with lightning striking all around me and the soaking rain pouring down. After an hour or so, the storm cleared and the sun came out and I got to watch a massive beautiful waterfall thunder down at the end of the canyon, much stronger that it did before. What was I doing up there? Checking an old Patented Mining Claim that I owned. Oh, the stories I could tell. This is the country and region where I lived for many years of my life and even owned property. I love it up there. I know that country.
