That's when rallying was really rallying. The work on Vatanens car , magic. They say the stuff today is good, not a hope. My age group are so lucky to have witnessed it all and at times be a part of it.
G'day to you, I was a Member of The Renault Car Club here West Aust . around about this time we had some great Rallies here back then, great way to spend the Weekend!
A thoroughly enjoyable video!! I loved it!! By the way, I hope everyone noticed that I didn’t have to include any infantile negative comments about today’s vehicles.
Andy Dawson and Tony Fawkes, both accumplished drivers and engineers, both missed out on the manufacturers trophy as team managers, on the very last event of the relevant seasons.
My favorite Era of World Rally. The shots of the 124 Fiat Abarth Rally Spider and the Fiat 131 Rally cars always put a smile on my face. I have a 124 Spider Rally car and drive it whenever I can...those cars from that time were the best, and set the stage for what it is today. Nothing sounds better than a Fiat Lampredi twin cam engine with a set of twin Weber 44 Idfs echoing through the countryside...Bravo video!
What the Finnish rally superpower can be attributed to is called “Sisu” You need to be Finnish to understand it! Closest English translation would be “balls” but it’s more than just that
This is a jolly interesting rally. It is 2023 and this is the first I've ever heard of it. Skodas are reputed to be good cars in snow and gravel . Merci beaucoup.
