My first what i considered real rc was fun and tough messed mine up in deep water wouldn't turn anymore .....but I still setup truck pulls with it since it still went forward lol good times!
FYI the main drive belts on our Yamaha vibes is the same size as the Oring that fits the oil filter housing on a 2016 Toyota Prius. Free lifetime supply!
I actually just added a power wiper, back up camera, and warning lights to the cab! Glad to know someone cares about it! I need to make a good video of the cab.
Just found this video. Back in the early 70’s our dad got a Polaris Mustang like yours. As I remember it was a big heavy machine with a 20” track and old boogie style suspension. It would travel up to 50 mph flat out. All the neighbors had smaller machines with 15” tracks, some with slide rail suspension. Watching you ride that old Polaris brings back a lot of memories from my youth. Thank you for posting
I have a similar setup for my John Deere 322 dedicated for snow removal. I have added a few goodies to it, however: heated cab, intermittent wiper motor, electric chute elevation control, LED Bar light on the front and LED Flood lights on the rear and sides of the cab, LED strobes all around. I also modified the chute rotation mechanical on the snowblower so it can rotate 260 deg instead of the default 180 deg. I also designed and 3D printed a switch box that is mounted on the ceiling of the cab for all the lights and wiper switches. I have a YT channel that shows my rig in motion. Most videos are interactive 360 deg 4K videos (You can use your mouse or VR Headset to look around like you would be inside the cab). You installed your chains wrong, the tire chain "Long Bar Fastener" (the long metal hook you had problem to figure out at the end) has to go through the last link then flip back 180 deg and use an opposite link to lock in place. It is used as a lever so you can really tighten the chain. Ah yes, the simplicity of the "old school" one-lunger fanner. I have never owned a Bravo, but I have always loved them and even today (2023) still want one. They seem like just plain fun sleds. Of course I really do love my red Indy 440. Great machine and tons of fun. But I will always have a soft spot in my heart for these one-lungers machines.
After 20 years, my 5000 is not work8ng right. When I play it alot things start going bad, like the high notes go quiet. I think it is the pressure sensor tube, even though a closed system it might gunk up, affecting the pressure sensor. So heck, at $1200 maybe I will get a new one. I am struggling to get mine disassembled, need a hex wrench, bla blabla. The long tube is gunky, opaque, cannot see thru it. I can clean that one, with peroxide and draining water thru it… but the pressure sensor tube cannot be cleaned without taking the whole thing apart.
My father had one of those with a 634 transplant. The next year he sold it to my brother and bought a 440 Skeeter for him and a 68 MS-18 for me. The neighbor had a 72 TNT 440 and for a couple years he was the king. THEN I bought a 77 TX 340 and smoked them all, trail and lake. The next year my dad and brother got brand new sleds. A 440 exciter and my brother got a SS 440.

Hey, I'm using my wife's phone a lot the moment but I picked up an 82 bravo a few years back for free and the guy said it ran for him a few years before. They messed with the fuel system trying to work out a few issues and gave up. So I'm trying to figure out what lines go where and can't figure it out even with the basic schematics I've found online. Any chance you could send me some pics or a Short video showing me what line goes where? I feel like I've figured out most of them bit don't want to screw it up and burn the motor up.
Imo the Bravo is the ultimate trail breaker it floats so well has enough power to get it done unless your in deep powder. But it is light to where you can dig out and head back the other way!
Cool little sleds. You might want to take a look at your motor mounts. They dry rot out and the motors will wobble when running, like yours seems to be doing. Really simple fix if need be. Take care.
