There is such a void since Chris Degarmo left. I absolutely love that guitar sound at the intro. Killing Words, Della Brown, Anybody Listening, Silent Lucidity. I miss that sound...
Notice period of youth, older life's spirit of helping lost, the dead in head thanks too God. When you find yourself alive. Drugs help in drifting,,no real emotional intelligence on it,, complaints are not a good answer,, community assisted living facilities in the winds..
I used to sing this number in a rock band along with a few other Queensryche tunes over the years. Geoff Tate is very expressive, especially if DeGarmo is writing the music. I enjoyed performing it, so... thanks boys.
Out at the train tracks I dream of escape But a song comes onto my ipod And I realise it's getting late I can't take the staring and the sympathy And I don't like the questions: "How do you feel?" "How's it going in school?" "Do you wanna talk about it?" Way out Way out of here Fade out Fade out, vanish I'll try to forget you And I know that I will In a thousand years Or maybe a week I'll burn all your pictures Cut out your face And the shutters a down and the curtains are closed And I've covered my tracks Disposed of the car And I'll try to forget even your name And the way that you look when you're sleeping And dreaming of this... Way out Way out of here Fade out Fade out, vanish
"I'll take what's real, bring up the lights!" We all want the truth, but we've been constantly lied to and manipulated so much, we wouldn't know the truth if it was shining in our faces. And part of me thinks none of us want the truth to begin with. What good is knowing the truth, if you're unable or unwilling to do something about it? I've been so black-pilled, because "I've seen the news and there's not much I can do alone." But instead let's just have "the left" fight with "the right" and nobody will notice that it's 🔯 that pull the strings.
This record is a masterpiece. I hope the younger generations grasp it by listening to it in its entirety. I’m a drummer and guitar player. It’s just astounding.
I heard them play this live in Portland Oregon. This song really made an impression on me. That bass line is amazing, but live…it’s on a whole new level. I can still feel it hit me in the chest 20+ years later.
Fun fact: after hearing this album once, it is physically impossible to not listen to it from beginning to end every single time, even if you just want to hear the very last part. Well, for me anyway 😀
