I’m happened to be able to see this before it closed and while the show was not the best, that was my favorite scene out of all of them. I am a little biased because I am a sucker for anything Tao as it is my favorite dance style and I am quite advanced in it, the transition into this scene was so well done and I definitely deserved the Tony. I also happen to know someone in the ensemble so if anyone saw the show, the person I know was the guy who did all the lifts dressed as a sailor in the beginning. He was able to do those because he has had many years of ballet training. Glad to see so many others appreciate this scene as much as I do.

How could the show close? I didn't see it but This looks phenomenal! it it Blends Old School Musical and new. I mean a lot of shows on Broadway aren't making it, why? I don't think people really appreciate the art of a musical anymore. Very sad this had so much going for it
I'm sad that this show closed it was so good and deserved a Tony I saw it with my best friend and it was amazing the story was so well drawn and the set was buetiful
Start spreadin' the news I'm leavin' today I want to be a part of it New York, New York These vagabond shoes Are longing to stray And step around the heart of it New York, New York I wanna wake up In the city that doesn't sleep To find I'm king of the hill Top of the heap My little-town blues Are melting away I'll make a brand new start of it In old New York If I can make it there I'll make it anywhere It's up to you New York, New York New York, New York I wanna wake up in the city That doesn't sleep To find I'm king of the heap Head of the list Cream of the crop at the top of a hill My little town blues Are melting away I'll make a brand new start of it In old New York If I can make it there I'll make it anywhere Come on! Come through! New York, New York New York
A lovely song by Mssrs. Kander, Ebb AND Miranda! As to the pre-existing lyrics by Fred Ebb, does anyone know if the original '"Along Comes Love" was just a random 'trunk song' or was it written but cut from another show? My son Greg and I were fortunate to make the closing of "New York, New York". He is a 'Miranda-holic', and several years ago wrote a sincere fan note to the guy- citing LMM as a 'great role-model'. 'Lin' was kind enough to respond with a few hand-written scribbles of his own. Stay strong AND sweet, Lin! HJ

For a Canadian production of the musical (in Toronto, of course), Clyde Alves, Corbin Bleu, and Thomas Dekker (the latter two married to Canadians, while the former is Canadian-born) would be perfect as Tommy, Jesse, and Jimmy, respectively. Fefe Dobson would shine as Francine Evans, and Clyde's wife Robyn Hurder would do likewise as Madame Veltri.
It’s a shame this show will close too early this week end! Incredible show, fine music and staging and choreography. Susan Stroman is a genius! Just one Tony? Am afraid voters are getting worse like those of the Academy (Oscars)
