Hi there ..thanks for viewing ! ... it`s a great place to go and shoot some drone vids ... there are a lot of sandy hills near to the lighthouse that i kind of hid in to fire up the drone .. i plan on doing some more vids soon ..just trying to decide where to go ! .. i`ll look forward to seeing your drone vids ! .. go and get out there dude !! :-) ..thanks Steve
Hi Stephen, I work for an award winning TV show about demolition and we're interested in using this footage. Can you let me know your email address or best way to contact you? Many thanks!
I bet there are not many people who can say that they once lived in a castle. Well, I did. As a teenager, I used to live in this very castle with my parents when the castle was in its full glory. To this day when I see footage like this, it brings back so many memories of when Gwrych Castle in Abergele was open to the public at the time I was living there. When I see pictures of the beautiful great staircase I have many memories of running up and down those stairs. It saddens me to see the castle in such a rundown state. I hope one day it can be restored to its full glory. On the humorous side because I lived in a castle, does that mean you all have to call me "Lord Roscoe" now? or even "King Roscoe" 🙂 🙂
@@2000stephenellis I thank it was around 1976 my father was running it for the owners there was a Miniature Railway to the side and we also had jousting shows
So, this is the new filming location for I'm A Celebrity 2020.. I can see the castle and surrounding areas have great potential, they can do trials not just in the castle but outside it too :)
Hi thanks for your reply...i think its a rich persons idea of a castle (all info in video description) i do know it was used in the 70`s as a kind of theme park ..hence the picture at the beginning ...it`s still a wonderful place to go visit if you ever get the chance ... and i believe some conservation group are in the process of restoring it as best they can ...that`s the last i heard anyway ..cheers steve
@@simonwilson1237 Yes it is (crying to be explored)... Be warned though if you ever make it the conservation group are VERY VERY..protective of the place nowadays ........
@@2000stephenellis I wouldn't bother mate. I was recently there and had it out with 4 security guards who said I couldn't fly over the area because it was private land. They weren't interested in hearing about the actual rules of flying, so after a while of discussing it I chose to leave as I couldn't be bothered arguing.
@@davyaerialvideography9595 Cheers for the heads up on that .... I was supposed to be holidaying very close to the castle this week...but it was cancelled due to covid ... So maybe next year ? ... Steve 👍
Cheers thank you ..(just happened to be on-line when you commented!) i strongly suggest you visit the castle in person if you ever get the chance .. it`s enchanting and haunting !! thanks again Steve ..stay safe!!
Yeah thanks for the comment...often wondered what was there before ... Do you know what went on on the big circular concrete slabs ? I'd love to know ...cheers Steve
Hi Stephen, they were chemical storage tanks, can't remember the name of the company. Daniel Platts was on the other side of the canel we made tiles there, happy days.
@@Dazsvintagestuff oh right cheers for that .. that would make a lot of sense ... I now know the area your on about as being Daniel Platts... I don't remember either to be honest ... But as I say I always wondered what was there ...cheers 👍
@@2000stephenellis Hey man I love this track, where can I download it? Also I'm really curious how you made it. It has such an old skool vibe, I just assumed it was some lesser well known track from the late 80s / early 90s rave era.
@@ShellysAshes Hi and thanks for the interest in the track ...it's years old bit here's what I remember about it ... Gear used ... Roland D50 for pads and lead... Akai S950 sampler for bass ... voice samples and drums... I'm not too sure if I have the full version anywhere any more if you listen it's just a section looped over and over.. But I'll have a look through my old dats to see if i can find anything ...if so I'll forward it on to you ... Cheers Steve
@@2000stephenellis Cheers man, ye I realised it was looped would love to hear the actual track. I find it really spiritual. It's so damm good. Good luck finding it I would be thrilled! :)
Hi there .. thanks for watching ... I was at the castle again 2 weeks ago (and I'm assuming that you are not being sarcastic here)...not much has changed since I shot this ... Thanks for watching again ... Steve (u.k.) X
@@GwrychCastleOfficial Hi there I'm perfectly willing to come along and help out with any restoration work ..that's how passionate I am about this place ..I only live an hour and a half away .. Get in touch please .. Kindest regards Steve
Georgina Graziano Hi Georgina...thanks for the comment...with regards to the ghost I've never really noticed to be honest ... I'll recheck the footage .... Although it would not be the first time something spooky has be caught on camera at this location .... Just standing beside the castle even in the daylight is a bit unnerving ... I recommend if you ever get chance to visit it ...to do so ...you won't be sorry you did ...
Georgina Graziano I'm due to go back this summer if I get chance I'll try and do another drone vid ..maybe from a different perspective ?....I've read recently that they're planning on renovating parts of it ... So could be my last chance to film there ...
Georgina Graziano yes you probably could ... I'll try if the opportunity presents itself... You see the land the castle sits on is protected ... No entry signs etc ...
I'm here from the utube sidebar.Great stuff. Some really interesting antique pottery pieces are showing up in my town here in Canada from this disrict. Its cool to see things you never would on Google maps.
Alex Jones hi I remember you all running because you thought I was the police !!! ... Nice meeting you all ... Hope you all explored well .. see you you Aug 2018 for more .... Take care dude ... Steve
Yes defs haunted i went once years ago and got to the famous marble stairs there was nothing on the stairs as i went down them but on my return there was a pool of blood and no apparent reasonable explanation of where it came from sent shivers down my spine i can tell u
Nicknamed this place tit hill lol dont think ive ever been this place when its not windy have u noticed the difference in light issue where u have to nose the camera down to brighten everything up again?
corsauk1972 yeah have definitely noticed the light difference ...I think you can change the settings so it's not so obvious but I'm not that arsed to be honest... I've been back to this location since to try and do a proper point of interest sweep on it but it was twice as windy as the day I did this video :-0
Changed my videos to allow comments for some reason this was off by default i had the problem with the point of interest mode but think ive mastered it now went for a fly over near wood park today did the follow me and point of interest modes and bloomin forgot to hit record ha ha
Bought one myself and still learning the different things i can do with it and where to fly around here in stoke-on-trent without some old gooter moaning lol
corsauk1972 nice one... to be honest I've not really come across any negative comments.. normally people are intrigued by it... and the kids go mad for it... let me know when you start posting vids I'll check them out... cheers Steve
Hi Just checked out your vid .. nice flight ... and a nice area to film as well ... i`ve just been reading an article on about Caverswall Castle (just past Meir) .. that maybe an interesting one to do as it looks amazing .. if you can get close enough to it that is .... cheers Steve
Thanks Steve for the feedback yes Caverswall Castle if im not mistaken has Wedding venues so a possibility there A few im thinking of doing are over the Cloud past Congleton and maybe ThreeShires Head on the way to Buxton could really do with getting a few spare batteries aswell as time soon runs out on them
Joe Price Hi Joe ..thanks for that insight into the footage...
