Hi my name is Jill and along with my husband Mick, we love spending time on or near the ocean.
2 years ago we set off on an adventure that would change our future. We are just your average couple, we both work, we have a mortgage and we had our dream trailer boat a 2400 Kevlacat Weekender called Heave Ho. Our 2000km trip along the Queensland coast in that boat made us realise what was important to us and that we wanted to keep doing it so why wait.
Fast forward to 2024 and we've sold our house & Kevlacat and we've downsized to a unit & we've bought our first 'big boat' a 2003 Scimitar 1010 Power Catamaran. Its a great platform but she was a little neglected and in need of some love and our touch. So we're starting our restoration and then hitting the seas again for bigger & better things.
Its a little daunting and expensive, but we're going to try our best to MAKE IT HAPPEN!!
If you like what you see, SUBSCRIBE and hit the LIKE button and join us for a trip Cheers! J&M
Hazlewood Island northern side is a beautiful horseshoe shaped bay where Wifey and i stayed in a tent for 10 days the bay is magic and we breakfasted every day on large whiting caught on soldier crabs, the bay mostly dries at low tide.
Hey mate, thank you! There’s plenty of boat vids in some previous episodes when we did a full Reno on the big girl. We’ve literally just sold her and are going bigger so will finish off this trip episodes and we’ll be back into another Reno! Lucky we love it!
@@richardspinks6736 yeah mate you’re right. Life has been happening fast lately and unfortunately I’m way behind in the editing. I’m really trying to get the last of this content out now before we start all over again on a reno! Cheers
@@makeithappen2021 Hey Mick, So no bad news ? I was hoping nothing bad had happened! Sounds like an upgrade? Look forward to seeing what is coming. We have to get after it while we still can . All the best to you guys
@@richardspinks6736 thanks mate! Yeah a few life changes for us had meant we’re going to move onto the water full time. Still work tho (unfortunately) so we’re going bigger. We’ve hopefully secured a boat and we’ll announce something this week or next. She’s a beast but needs a little love and personal touch. So here we go again!
Yay another vid :) take your time guys. Side Note: I bought so many damned lotto tickets to try and get the scimmy 🤣 🤪 love that boat. P.S. I need that nachos recipe it looked mad as.
@@Alan-R1971 haha yeah mate, she was an awesome boat. Perfect for that style of boating. Jillza is a wizard when it comes to Nachos! Part Mexican I think 🤔 😂
@@brettmccowen7584 hey thanks mate! Def more to come. Plus a whole new Reno coming up! 🤦🏻 I’ve been leaving that stuff in lately as that’s just how we are.. so why not! Cheers for the message
Magical Queensland coastline and islands. Yes live the dream (all that hard work getting "Make it Happen" a home) thanks a quillion for sharing your dreams to be a Blue Nomad. Keep safe, catch lots of fish.
@@sailingnusa4228 thanks guys, yeah trying to just keep it real hey as far as boat stuff goes. As for fishing and tackle etc.. well, yeah I need to get better at that, but it’s a work in progress
Great channel love it, but have just seen your boat up for sale? Hope you don't stop sharing your boating life style and the beautiful locations you guys visit and capture.
You guys crack me up sometimes! 😄 It's great to watch you guys love each other the amount you do and get to go on awesome adventures together on awesome boats! Been following you for a long time now, keep it up! Very jealous 👍
Great footage guys. Love this boat. I seen its for sale ! Whats the plans if it sells ? Another vessel ?Keep up the videos guys just love every aspect of this beautiful boat.
@@chrislingard8082 hey mate, it’s weird mate, we heard a couple of peeps said it dropped out on the last one and it literally just happened to us on this one. But it works fine on the phone watching youtube… I have no idea
Thanks for the video , Great information on there and i noticed you have just put Snooks up for sale so obviously something has changed ! Hope all is OK and all the best
Tumeke you two. Just what is needed , adventures without the " Over the Top Drama". Long may your Waka keep you safe and provide US with mirth in the ongoing Adventures. UBIQUE
@@tonyf7997 it has been a big change! We love the boat, but things have changed in our life where we’ve decided to go bigger again and move onto the boat full time.
@@makeithappen2021Unless you love sailing get a 60 ft plus power cat , something capable of having two tenders , one small one you can easily drag up a beach and a second one that is a capable fishing exploring boat , like a 4.5+ tinny with a 50 hp + tiller and electric bow mount . What’s really important is fuel capacity / range in the mothership ,you want to explore remote areas you need fuel , we just spent this season through the Kimberley…We have a sail cat , but next boat will def be a bigger power cat , even though we motor well and have 4000 l of diesel . SV Defino , 57 Perry
@@shanelikesbikes wow! A 57 Perry! Very nice! That would be huge, the 43s are big! Haha We agree with every word you said and we are thinking very similar. May not get to afford anything with numbers exactly like you said but the plan is to be close!
Curious to know what the charging rate back into the 600ah lithium bank is via the DCDC chargers when underway? Do they tend to top up pretty quick via the alternators on the 110s? By the way, a great refit series, the final product a real credit to you both!
It's all in the adventure , boat handled it nicely and the sneaky lil kick on Jill's trout out the back of the tender mick 😂 then grabs the football with 2 hands ha ha ha living the dream guys thanks for sharing 🎣👍
@@Leosarebetter this trip made us realise it’s all we want and need so we’re committing to living on the water full time. To do that comfortably and make it sustainable we feel we need a rig a little bigger. So that’s why. Otherwise we’d never sell her. It’s a perfect getaway boat.
@@makeithappen2021 My wife and I live on a 42' powercat, and we feel that's still a bit small. Cats don't have a lot of storage, and don't take to being overloaded, as you know. We looked at the Scimitars, too. Your fuel consumption figures are excellent. We'll probably end op on a 45-50' monohull; we'll see. That will be much slower than our current boats, for sure, be we're OK with that. Subscribing to see what you end up with. Good luck!
@@warrenhindle3010 not sure what the go is, it’s only on some people’s vids.. I’m wondering if it’s when I censor out some swearing? I don’t know.. as others have full sound 🤷🏻
