Always thought this would be way to complex for an old beginner but you break it down to it's easiest components and explain it in layman's language. Now i can play along with Tequila Sunrise and Hotel California. Thanks and keep posting!
So glad it helps, it’s a great song and not to difficult as long as you got the chords and strumming pattern. It should all fall into place. I will definitely be posting more.😊
That’s not chicken picking. Not trying to flame anybody, good lick, good lesson. that’s Travis picking/ hybrid picking but no barnyard fowl there my friend. Here’s a good demo of some chicken takin flight… ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bT9NDMELDVg.htmlsi=pSujcMqSVU_Hc4IJ
Excellent franchement je ne le joue pas comme ça très très bon niveau maintenant j'aurais une question car ce niveau inspire le respect : comment l'accorder comme cela ?👋🤟
Hi troy, it’s matthew’s little sister… i just wanted to thank you for teaching matthew! he absolutely loved you as his guitar teacher, he would always be talking about how much he loved playing guitar with you. he is watching on you from heaven, rest in peace my brother.
Hi Stephanie. My deepest condolences for your brother. I am so very grateful to have had such an amazing student as I had with Matthew. He had such a deep love for music and a massive passion for it as well. I had such an immense joy sharing my love for music with him and always looked forward to our lessons together. He is truly missed and I know he is looking on from heaven supporting all of us in everything we do. RIP Matthew. With gratitude and love.
Pickers.! This lesson is excellent for getting started with clear instructions. However as you advance give a listen to Danny Gatton Scotty Anderson Greg Koch Daniel Donato Johnny Highland James Burton and everyone who ever performed with the Don Kelly Band out of Nashville! Enjoy!
Hybrid picking mabe ! But chicken picking this is not! This doesn’t sound like a chicken clucking ( this the term ) you need a single coil pickup with reverb and slap back delay, the alternating muted pick sound then the plucking with the finger nails gives the voice of the chicken!! Look up Brent Mason,
Thanks I’m glad this was very helpful. I am in the process of putting my Blues Improvisation book together, please follow my RU-vid channel and I will inform everyone when it is completed and along with instructional videos.
You know its kind of assumed by people learning the guitar "well If I'm learning the chords and their roots I'll eventually just know the notes as a by product of that knowledge" which is true in some cases but to just sit and think and name them for each string and go up and down and all over without having to use an octave is reallly a great idea because if you're learning in the former camp well you might only use root chords of the top three strings and may not study the inversions and then you go to apply the knowledge to a solo and boom your missing notes. Great lesson and kudos to Steve Vai for not giving up.
Perhaps you mistake use of the "index finger" for the middle finger. Index is first finger and you wouldn't be easily able to use it if you're pinching a pick between index and thumb.
Thanks…anything to practice leads to new ideas and themes to explore. I have to tell myself to practice slow and clean even though this lends itself to kind of a sloppy cool sound.
While this was not earth shaking in content, I'm pretty sure it was free to view, so if you didn't like, just move along. I didn't find your comment useful or very impressive.
Hi Troy great lesson, very usefull and clear, congrat. I created a Backing tracks channel for guitar , real hQ tracks, Just put 3 Blues online, maybe you'll be interrested in? It would be so nice to have you in and it would be also a pleasure to subscribe to your channel, something like a mutual encouragement. (just tell me what you think about).
