Based on personal experience, I think the main reason why perfectionists procrastinate after a setback(unfulfilled expectations) is bcz of the ego. So that, later we can console ourselves like, "Hey, I could easily achieve my goals if I had put a little effort but these things aren't worth my intellect." Gotta embrace the failures as well to overcome the perfectionist mindset.
