I said it on another video I watched, and I'll say it again....well, it might not be word for word, but this is the point: So long as gamers are willing to pay money for games that are rushed, content cut, unfinished, never finished, service discontinued so now you gotta either code a crack for the game to keep playing it, or find one that someone else made...which shouldn't be a thing we should be accepting of. As long as gamers keep putting up with mediocrity or redundancy in games, or far worse, games that are glitch-fests at launch, and keep giving game developers top dollar for a game that, should not be sold at AAA price, then game developers will keep cutting costs, shutting down game studios to save money and firing talented devs, and shut down service for games that people can only play via a digital agreement, that always says "by agreeing to the terms and conditions, you accept that you are buying a license for a game, not the game itself". Says so on any EULA I've read for different games, usually in the first paragraph. Acceptance of mediocre games and rewarding devs with a windfall of cash from tons of sales, the devs will realize that there is no point to making a very good game. Just see all the companies that adopted lootboxes. Now...they have created the infinite money glitch. Just ask Rockstar regarding GTA Online, or Valve for counter-strike. Rockstar quite literally put a casino in the online portion of the game. Valve actually created an infinite money glitch, because every time something is sold on the Steam community market, Valve gets a cut. This item can be sold an infinite amount of times, and each time, Valve gets a cut.
I'm sorry Arlo, but I think that course about Zelda is not right. You can do a movie following the basics of every Zelda game, sure, nothing wrong about that. But you can also do an iterative series with time jumps like a heist movie, when the plot every time gets iterated by Ganon fixing the issues that caused his demise (heh) in the past and getting new actors for every incarnation and new characters (sort of) for everyone except Ganon/dorf. You could make a "The Legend of Zelda" series telling Ganon's story through time.
If arlo says it happened.....IT IS HAPPENING!!! NintenDON'T is emulating ford-ON'Ts class action lawsuit claims and mega recall issues. Sounds like a red-ring of death problem all over again. I personally think JOY-CONS are cheap generic controllers that won't last, which is kinda proven now.
In the modern world most fear is misplaced excitement. If you always take the safest easiest path the first hardship will likely be your last. Experiment and learn as soon as you can, it doesn't get easier later. Live, business, hobbies, doesn't matter.
After super paper Mario I feel like the new paper Mario is part of the super paper Mario universe. paper Mario and paper Mario 1000 your door is its part of Mario story I feel like there are two different franchises at this point
Too bad the American Nintendo retconned Vivian into being trans instead of a crossdressing male. That alone guarantees it won't be getting my money. Thankfully, people have already made mods to fix that dialogue.
Bro I had drift DAY 1 and if the switch 2 has drift either 1 they based most of the internal electronics on the original joy cons or 2 they intentionally put it there
This video sums up perfectly why I'll never buy a Nintendo console again. I loved the Wii U and enjoyed it. Pre-ordered the Switch in 2017, tried it for a couple months and a bit into 2018, and really grew to dislike it. Then on top of that, Nintendo's outrageous business practices. I can find my personal gaming fix on PC- I don't need Nintendo (or any console for that matter).
I could see in the lead up to a smash movie nintendo releasing a bunch of shorts (that could play during the trailers before movies in theatres) introducing more obscure characters. kinda like the post credit scenes in marvel movies, but without the movie attached. you don't need a whole pikmin movie to introduce olimar so he can be in the big crossover event, but a charming short with olimar and the pikmin that ends with them, idk, getting sucked up into a mysterious other world, and then a cut to the smash bros movie logo could interest general audiences while also building hype among fans. think about how exciting the smash bros character reveal trailers always are, even among people who aren't that into smash bros. you could totally recreate that same thing with a movie
Also, didn't you do an entire video complaining about corporate greed when Pokemon Unite came out? Fortnite is the poster child game for corporate greed over artistic vision! They literally threw away the game they had been making (and advertising) to copy PUBG in Beta after PUBG posted crazy high player counts in it's first few weeks, rushing out a strpped down game-mode instead of a fully fleshed out game, in an obvious cash grab manoeuver! Now you want Nintendo to staple Samus to these greedy shills? Na-uh! Nintendo stood up for themselves and our girl, and I applaud them for it! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Ah yes, that's why Alan Wake 2, published by Epic itself, was doing so well. Because there's a skin of him in Fortnite. Oh no, wait. That game still hasn't made back it's costs. Expecting a Fortnite skin to elevate anything besides Epic's egos is delusional. Sorry, Arlo, you're a dreamer here.
Sorry dude, on this one, Nintendo is right and you're wrong. Nintendo survived the rise of PlayStation & Xbox by protecting their own little pond. There's no way they should throw away control of their IP for a game that will be replaced with something new in just one generation. And for what benefit? L33T Fortnite kids aren't going to play 2D Metroid games when they could be playing Fortnite.
I kind of understand why Nintendo is like this, a good comparison would be Sony, Kratos is in Fortnite and now the god of war games are coming to PC, I’ve seen people on Twitter asking what is the point of buying a PS5 is if the games are eventually coming to PC and that’s going Nintendo trying to avoid
I guess Nintendo fans will soon be turned into gamergaters and then bomb Switch 2 so hard as well as filing lawsuit aginst them? If "gamergate" is excluded as an effect, then I'm all for it
It sucks that I got some bootleg joycons on a marketplace of somekind... and after at least a year and a half of use, they show no signs of drift, while most official pairs needed to be fixed or replaced within a year or something. The only official joycons that still work after a couple of years are the one's on my dad's Switch, which we almost never use.
Nintendo's MO isn't about the money, but rather the control. Remember when Nintendo got burned by the first Super Mario Movie? (not the Illumination one)
Important fact: Nintendo in phantasy star online 2 (a multiplatform mmo) decided to give out a link skin if you linked accounts and you can still use your link skin to this day on pc, PlayStation or Xbox if you linked it (only in Japan) and everyone from every platform can see it! Just look at pso2/ phantasy star online 2 link skin.
The last time i played TTYD was like ten years ago, so playing it again as an adult made me realise how funny the writing is The crows talking about realistic human things in chapter 4 made me laugb so hard lmao
I don't think the food analogy helps the point at all. In that analogy, it makes sense why a restaurant would want to keep their food with some prestige instead of being just one listing amongst hundreds on justeat. I don't think that's necessarily Nintendo's thought process, I'm just saying the analogy doesn't work
making excuses for nintendo evil decisions, and not believing nintendo is evil, lmao countless fan projets destroyed, greedy pratices, nintendo is competing against EA to see who is worst.
You just went through a whole deep dive in yourself and the whole philosophy of one corporation just because you want Metroid to sell more, I feel like you think Fortnite is the ONLY way this could have happened. I understand the reach and popularity of Fortnite, but there are more ways in which Metroid can become successful before having to resort to Fortnite or other massive things for help, Nintendo smartphone games was the latter because Wii U was failing but lately they don't feel the need to make more mobile games now that they're doing better.
even though the reason for it is just more soulless, corporate baboonery, i'm glad samus is not in fortnite. it's not a zeitgeist in a good way, and people are going to remember its outrageous roster with shame. to many fans of franchises that have been added, encountering their beloved characters in the exploitative mess of that zombified game is as disappointing as encountering them in porn.
