This is cruel beyond belief. Cats do not like water because in the wild the water weighs them down and slows them down if they would need to run away from predators. Cats are also fastidious self cleaners. You don't need to clean a cat unless it has a parasitic infection. So this guy is ridiculous and cruel.
Not sure what you are doing to this cat (though judging by the way she is wriggling as you hold her uncomfortably i get the vibe its not all good) that is making her smell "funky" I had my cat for almost 22 years & never bathed her once. She always smelled of fresh air, like fresh laundered clothes when dried outside on the washing line. Cats have an enzyme in their saliva that acts as a natural biological detergent & they spend hours everyday licking/grooming themselves
never bath a cat only once when my male cat hit puberty and he did something funny to his brother and we fixed them and never again they always clean themselves
