One thing I find interesting about Kirins... In Chinese culture, appearance of Kirin means death of a ruler/leader, kind of like banshee. Yet in Japanese myth, Kirins only appear in the domain of a wise and benevolent leader. For cultures that share same roots, to have two different meanings behind same beast is rather interesting.
They are benevolent in Chinese culture too. They come to guide the spirits of those passing rulers. They are spirit guides and oppose the wicked. More akin to angels in the west. They are nothing like banshee in either culture. In fact they are essentially exactly the same creature in both Chinese and Japanese.
This was in my dreams for a long time and when something like this finds you for a good sign that times are changing so fast and yet so often then not I will never forget the good and times with the people that called me family no matter what I was younger a lot of things happened in short of time and years have passed but the lessions will be forever
