I love this lens, I got mine in 2014 and it’s been my core landscape photography lens ever since. Clicking the “remove chromatic aberration” checkbox in Lightroom really cleans it up a lot, makes it look 20 years newer
The 20D and 30D -- possibly others -- seem to have been shut out with respect to the various methods (on-line, Win-only, Mac-only, etc.) available for extracting shutter counts from one or another image file (.e.g. .JPG, .CR2) taken with the camera. The method described in this video does seem to be an option using HexFiend on a Mac, reading two bytes from hexadecimal offset 950 into the image file, brought over from the camera, and interpreting the result as an integer. I'm unable to confirm the result using another method, but given the age of the camera and its fitments, it seems the value is likely accurate. JFYI.
I just bought this camera about a week ago. I use this camera for a few days before discovering that it have lens error, so I sent it back to the seller. I do find that the flash is really good. I can see that Ricoh GR dna also flows in this camera. Sad to see it go back.
thanks..... Shot in RAW, P mode iso 80, MY1 iso 200, MY2 iso 400. Let the camera do its own thing. Choose an image not too light or dark, made a generic preset. Then adjusted for the other images...

I like the idea of this camera because the manual dial controls, the micro 4/3 sensor, the size, cool in-camera photo tricks (sequence composition, 4K photo, focus bracketing), and the colors are something to behold. But I still have some reasons why I haven’t pulled the trigger on it: 1. Complaints on dust getting into the lens, (not environmentally sealed). 2. Relatively low resolution 17MP photos(not 20MP). 3. Contrast detect auto focus,(not as good as phase detect), that tends to hunt for focus and pulse in videos. 4. Battery life is not terrific. 5. 15 min 4k record limit. 6. Bad rolling shutter. 7. Barely there hand held video stabilization in 4K. 8. Fixed, non articulating screen, (doesn’t flip up or around). 9. App functionality was know to be clunky when the camera was new, what is it like now 5years later? 10. Not cheap. Though 5yrs old now in Nov 2023 still commands $1000 used, which is still expense considering other used alternatives one could get that don’t have the mentioned limitations, (Full frame Sony A7C, 1.in Sony ZV1, APSC Sony ZV10, APSC Ricoh GR iii, etc.). So far the novel features haven’t outweighed the drawbacks for me, but if found cheap enough…maybe?
Hi, that was a test on Ai, I now use P on point and shoot cameras with iso locked at 80. Then i save user settings 1 @ iso 400, 2 @ iso 800 for when it gets darker... When doing this i can shoot in RAW. Ai gives JPEG.
RU-vid's algorithm has guided me here. Several days ago, I got an old Canon G10 camera. After using it, I've reconfirmed it's not a gear that matters. Your 1dx is an excellent camera. But I think you can take nice and touching pictures with an old and small lx--5. Keep going! Subscribed.
@@kevrosas1 thats right. the soft and vignetting edges are cut, however APS-C places a much bigger demand on the remaining picture. a 24mpixel aps-c cam has the same pixel density as a 62mpixel full frame camera. none of those old zooms will even remotely resolve that without significantly stopping down. when viewed at 100% these old zooms are usable on a fullframe 6D or R6, but look mushy on a 90D or R10, let alone an 33mpixel R7. yet the price is very good and the EF 24-85 even has a fast-ish USM. if you get one for a low price (often sold in bundle with an old film camera) and you dont need/want to pixelpeep its totally okay.
