What would be cool is if you added a Sun Tracker to it so you have the solar panel connected to a motor that tracks the sun's trajectory constantly that way it's always facing the Sun no matter where you're at or which direction you're going especially when you're driving around.
Question: are you saying the combined wattage of the 2 solar panes is 160w. or are each panel 160w watt (320w for the total) ...? the trailer looks great..!
Rob K Hi Rob, Thank you 😊 The two solar panels combined are 160 watts. They are the Elfeland SP-22 160 Watt. They are monocrystalline Cells, which my research indicate are made by SunPower (high quality, low cost, just over one dollar per watt) these flexible solar panels weigh approximately 4 pounds per panel, which is very lightweight and perfect for our application. We purchased these solar panels on eBay. We are also looking into purchasing an RC Vector Kite with the motor mounted below the kite, and adding C60 SunPower☀️monocrystalline Cells to the top of the kite, possibly adding a Genasun voltage boosting charge controller, and see if we can extend the flight time of the electric ⚡️ remote control vector kite.

Babios The solar panels are Elfeland SP-22 160 Watt. I test these panels and they produced 157 watts in the late afternoon. The scooter consumes between 50 and 100 watts (Monitored on the Mi Home Phone App) of energy to maintain low speed on level road, thus the solar panels produce enough energy to keep the battery fully charged all day as long as the sun ☀️ is shining. The charger that plugs 🔌 into the wall outlet which is the one that we received from the manufacturer when we purchased the scooter, charges the scooter at approximately 71 watts, and requires approximately 5 hours to fully charge the scooter if the battery was depleted. Thus, the solar panels Super Charge The Scooter 🛴 If the battery 🔋 was depleted of charge and we charged the scooter only with sunlight, it would charge the scooter in less than 1/2 the time the original wall outlet charger achieves. The solar panels are 80 watts each, times two equals 160 watts. If you wish to study the solar panels in greater detail, you can google search Elfeland SP-22 160 Watt Solar Panels. They are monocrystalline cells at just under 24% efficiency.
Babios Also, if your question is, why are we producing twice the watts needed to charge the scooter compared to the factory charger, it is because we thought it could be helpful to have extra energy, sometimes there is hills which would require more energy to navigate.

Lions Clubs International 3231 A3 has tried it out with cooperation of an Engineering College. The system works wonderfully well. In these days of high fossil fuel prices the system should be encouraged and used universally.
In 1994 I bought a (used) 1990 Ford Explorer The dealership in Abilene, TX had a program, "Drive the car a week, if you like it, we will help make it yours". I drove it to my son's graduation 346 miles, one way, another part of TX.. returned to Abilene on the same tank of gas I left with an had gone over 700 miles on less than a tank of gas ( worked out to 47 MPG). The Ford house said that since I had not put down a deposit , I could not keep whatever gave me that kind of mileage. I never found out what "IT" was. I did find previous owner, in Coleman, Tx.. His brother, @ Silicon Valley had done something but under dire threats could not talk about it. Think about it, from 16 mpg to 47 mpg in 1994 , so it CAN be DONE!!!

if you have a series of gears to drive the wheels, so you keep motor rpm low as speed picks up, then charging the alternators off of a gearing system from the wheels, do you think that'd work well for maintaining the charge?

The front brake on your scooter reminds me of a similar issue I had on a bicycle. In my case, my wheel wasn't straight. On one of my cars, the rear brake caliper pins were not moving enough due to rust. I had to take the pins out, polish them and re-grease them. Something like that maybe causing the front brakes to do that. I would think a reliable motorcycle or bicycle shop could fix it and they maybe interested in your experiment.
Thanks for the detailed tip! It turned out that the brake cable was rubbing on the disc, and the caliper was misaligned. We were able to make a simple adjustment to fix it. We always appreciate enthusiasm and input for our project!
IF YOUR USING A AC GENERATOR YOU HAVE A POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE COMING FROM IT NO MATTER WHAT YOUR METTER SAYS. AC GOES POSITVE THEN NEGATIVE AND MUST BE RECTIFIED SO YOU NEED TO SPLIT YOUR WIRES COMING OUT AND HOOK IT UP TO EACH SIDE OF RECTIFIER.
Have you experimented with gasoline chemistry? One ounce of acetone mixed with 10 gallons of gasoline will make the gasoline vaporize more efficiently. This has been done since the fifties.
