The War Blog RU-vid channel is a collection of video playthroughs of hex and counter games from the web site www.modernwar.games.
The hex wargames vary in nature from full playthroughs to quick overviews.
The games are all modern military engagements post World War Two. They range in scale from small skirmishes and stand offs to major engagements involving 100,000+ men on either side. Many of the games cover current events and emerging military situations including border skirmishes, insurgent activity and Coup d'états.

The Spanish and Moroccan formations are exchanged. The Spanish circulated along the northern slope of the Luad Saquia el Hamrra. Although a large group of legionaries went down to the river bed, falling into the typical trap. 46 legionaries fell in combat. Including the captain and other officers. The rest were injured of varying severity. Some on more than one occasion. It is not known how many Moroccan and Sahrawi guerrillas died. There was no official figure. Well, many casualties were removed.

the 63rd in real life was mostly destroyed. The Recce Company was mostly disorganized and ineffective and left there positions when the nK army pushed across. Also there were some ROK cavalry in the area and briefly fought near the 63rd but retreated towards Noonsan.
I was googling “nasr operation” and found your interesting analysis. My dad was an officer in Iranian royal army, chieftain tank, he lost his life that day and still MIA.
I would like to add to this video, but I wont, so i'll make a few comments. Further thouhts: 1) I have seen nothing about the defence of these cities, for examples, defensive lines, advance defencive lines, fields of fire etc. Even reflections of Vietnam and assaults against US positions showed how difficult it was to storm bases, barb wire, flood lights, air dtikes, rocket strikes, these open zones would have been formidable. I have seen nothing regarding these Afghan defensive attempts. 2) Air power, I have seen nothing to indicate that the AAF were interdictin roads, bridges and strategic points. Surely there should have been places were anything on the ground that moved would have been targetted? 3) Reports of indirect fire slowing down Taliban advances, mortar, rocket and artillery. Surely the Taliban would have had to form up in some capacity and maintain some sort of logistics support that could have been wiped out. 4) Taliban mistakes. Surely the Taliban might have made mistakes somewhere, advanced without sufficient supply, or otherwise been in the wrong place at the wrong time. As I say in the video, it doesn't make sense. Its like the country fell in freefall. Never before have advances been so rapid. Even consider Libya where they failed to take Tripoli. Not a single stale mate. As I say in this video, the 'something else' scenario is at the top of the list. If I think of anything else I will add it in the comments.

It was a stupid mistake considering they were defeated using AH-1J cobras and airborne troops. They had no chance once the Iranians regrouped and started launching air attacks
1st battalion of the 46 Infantry had 4 rifle companies of 120 soldiers allocated. But they were always under strength so the entire battalion might have had 350 to 380 rifleman.

Back to the main story; Afabet is a sequel of the great war "project Nadew" where Ethiopian core strategic foothold was completly destroyed. Post Nadew, Afabet was liberated followed by Massawa. This is a not a sequential process; to facillitate the liberation of towns and cities great battles was raging all over the country to undercut any circuitry within the enemy's system. If you are aiming to be a war historian, Eritrea is the best choice. It an amazing great history.

According to captured documents after the raid, the enemy terrorists dead was 1.028. A good days work. There was no "hot pursuit". A dozen stolen trucks and light infantry transports, loaded with heavy weapons under tarps, were used by Rhodesian forces (dressed in enemy attire) to infiltrate a terrorist training camp. Once there, they called everyone within the camp to gather around the trucks, which were made to look like supply trucks. Then they opened up at point blank range on the heathens. They estimated about 300 were killed, but they were not sticking around to count. The force then blew up a bridge under fire to stop any pursuit for a clean get a way. 4 men were wounded. What a movie this would make.
At about 53 minutes in there is an error when I attack the artillery, this has been corrected. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KzZuAMlrWmg.html I have also made a further modification such that artillery on its own only defends against ground forces at 20%, ie defend/5. This error fix and additional rule modification has been a long time coming.
The error is not the previous error. If you look from 32.35 you will see it works fine to commit the battle, but I then submit it again after, sending blank data across as the conflict has already been done. As such, I have removed the submi button after conflict has been done.
