This is a wonderful rendition of this song! I don't think I've ever heard a cover with vocals before, so this was a lovely surprise to come across. Great voice, fantastic playing. Keep up the awesome work!
A little twinge, a little shock, a little whisper at the bottom of your memory. A sudden wind, a gentle knock, and then a rustle in the leaves. You hold your breath, you check the lock. You reassure yourself there's nothing at the window. But you're wondering. You're wondering. You're wondering what that was. Nothing's gonna happen. Nothing's gonna happen. You turn a key, you flip a switch. You settle back into the blissful unfamiliar. You close you're eyes, but there's an itch. A little hurt your heart retrieves. But you ignore the tiny twitch. Pretend the feeling will be gone before the morning. But you're wondering. You're wondering. You're wondering where you are. Nothing's gonna happen. Nothing's gonna happen. But wouldn't it be fine to share the weather in her eyes, her hair. Her footsteps as she climbs the stair. The shadow in her light. But everything you know is true, and everything you want to do, and everything that makes you you, collides against the night. And nothing's black and white. But you're wondering. You're wondering. You're wondering what's to do. You're wondering. You're wondering. You're wondering if it's true. Nothing's gonna happen. Nothing has to happen.
Andy, this song is so special to me, it was my Grandmother's favorite song, from her favorite singer, the incomparable Nat King Cole....and you have created a wonderful version yourself! Thank you for sharing with us!
Andy, I heard your new songs just before Christmas and I just adore them....great job!! This one is just so special, I remember Judy singing it in Meet Me in St. Louis, and you have done such an amazing job!
Boy, they don't make voices like this anymore. "Legit," yes, but there's more to it. Naturally emotive, sparkling with color, nuanced. Bravo, Andy! I hope you do great things.
Andy, I first saw the 1943 version of the Phantom in about 1988 with my Grandparents, and loved it! That was also the year I saw the stage play in Chicago, and love everything about the play. But this song? Timeless! I had no idea that there were lyrics, and your voice and playing are truly special! This video transported me almost 35 years back in time!!
Thank you so much, Kevin! Really means a lot. The film has all sorts of variations on the theme and the lyrics are featured in it as well! So happy the song brought you some joy. I associate this song with my grandparents too <3
@@atighe42 Thanks for the reply, and I did not remember that the lyrics were featured in the movie....I will have to go back and re-watch it now, it has been years since I saw it! Thanks so much again!
The song has haunted me my whole life! The song and film has been a family mainstay since it came out in 1943. It means a lot. A wonderful film: enjoy!
I adore this piece of music which I first heard when I was little watching Claude Rains version of phantom of the opera with my mam, I am now 52. This tune has always stayed with me. Your version is beautiful thank you for sharing :)
@@atighe42 you're very welcome. This version of the story was wonderful, apart from the glamorous costumes beautiful music and fantastic settings you could really feel the phantoms sadness. I was soooo sad when he was killed at the end of the film although I was only little that moment has always stayed with me.
I would like to add your voice is beautiful I would love to hear you sing a taste of honey in the style of Esther Ofarim and also your version of the fantastic song The first picture of you by the Lotus Easters this always gets a lot of memory comments as it really is a brilliant song and means a lot to a lot of people..... I'll watch this space. Take care and stay safe :)
I've been looking everywhere for people who can actually sing this sing and do it justice, and what do you know, I found one! Amazing job, I love your tone and volume control and your breathing was amazing!
Wow! After having seen this show twice and being completely obsessed, I just have to tell you what an amazing job you did! This is probably my favorite song from the show, and you certainly did it justice!
