Discover 100s of model trains from all around the world! I have a vast collection accumulated over the years that I want to share with you. Tou will find both popular and obscure finds. Oh yeah... I also do a video here and there concerning solar, renewable energy, generators and portable power station! If you have an idea for a model or a request. Put it in the comment in one of the video and who knows, I might be able to fill it out! Cheers, Leeway Models
I just ordered a Bandai kit. Going to have to power it for my tram area on my layout. I am ok with the cost power it as I have a couple trains that cost over 800 USD. lol I actually have that Kato green tram on my layout. Great video!!
Some of those models can get very expensive indeed! As for the Bandai kit, this is a fun project. The best advice I can give you is to make sure you have all your parts to assemble it powered to begin with. The snaps worked much better the first time they are used and it will be much easier to assemble.
Hi, 1: Can we use a second large capacity battery (12V 280AH LiFePO4 Lithium Battery) with the same connection? 2: can we use a 20Amp 12V/20A Smart Battery Charger Lithium Lifepo4 charger for faster charging than the 90w charger? Thank you in advance for your response.
lol im from new york and its sunny but not like down south and im getting over 100watts out of my panels when its cooler outside so stop it these solar panels can output more then 100watts and i bought cheap ones from AMAZON for 65 dollars and there worling great i just broke my renogy wanderer 10amp controller so i bought the 30amp one for 30 dollars on AMAZON so send me the 10 amp one i need it please and thank you
Interresting. I would be interested to know if it is louder then the one that only has one fan. I wonder if they found out that having 2 fans was over engineering? Mine almost never have it's fan turns on at all.
Thanks! Sorry for the lack of recent updates. I got flodded. Fortunately, I did not loose any trains but everything is in storage containers at this time.
Yeah robbing is bad. It feels like someone invades your privacy and that you worked for nothing to acquire what you were stolen. For flodding it was not just me, the whole neighbourhood was impacted. We had to demolish the walls and floors. The contractor is working on it while I stay somewhere else. It is a miracle that only one train set box got damaged because it was on the floor.
Good finds, when I was a kid, I got the little chefs express for 5$, complete in box in a Lawndale in new Brunswick while we were on vacation, I was so happy, it was my very first steam engine, and it worked perfectly, never liked the cars much but as I have been collecting, I realised these really are different and kinda fun, nice small lot you got there, might go to the show someday, debating weather to go to the one in Ontario instead, it might be even better, never been though
Good old days it seems. Have you seen that some people sells the mini chefs set 400$ new in box (looked to complete mine)! I am looking for the locomotive and missing yellow car to do a video on them. Thanks for sharing and for your nice comment!
It depepends what you mean. Total capacity is 299wh for the power station only. You can triple that with the extra battery that bring both unit almost to 1kwh. They are said to keep 80% capacity at 3500 cycles (charge/discharge).
Nothing wrong with this pack, the shunter has a realistic speed compared to the old shunter, although I think it is a bit light but nice livery, I am looking to buy this pack and this reviews helps, thank you
Depends where you live as I would recommend you try to source it locally 8f available. In my case, I bought it on ebay directly from Japan but got some customs fees and paperwork in the process.
Just for fun, I looked at the US website of jackery and compared it to the Canadian one. On the Canadian website, they states that the adapter is included but not on the US website. However on the US one, I can see that you can order it with a different colour (dune white like you got) and also order separately a small carrying bag that we do not have access to in Canada.
Noted. Although I hope I won't have to clean another brand new model in the future! This one was woefully over lubricated and I never saw that before, to that level anyway!
At first I wasn't sure about it but now that I use it almost daily, I can say it is not a rip-off given how much use it has. But Yes is is more expensive per watt hour then larger units but this is a case of use over stats as per what I said in the second video. .
@@leewaymodels if manufacturer says its 100w port and it has only 30w, its a rip-off. Listen I purchased Anker 548 it has double capacity, flashlight, and even xt60 port to charge it from solar for 105$ on amazon. And all ports have same wattage as described by manufacturer. So with Jackery its an argumented rip-off
I was able to charge / discharge at 100w with use. The devices I tested in this video were limited to those wattage. Also, capacity is not relevant as what I tried to explain is the use that define the use fullness. I can't carry the other device that you are referring to on an airplane or in my laptop bag as easily as I can with the Jackery 100 plus. Capacity alone isn't the whole story. Mind you, the Anker looks like a nice unit but it is also sadly not certified for sale where I live.
Anker has only 60w ports and you can draw only 80w MAX! from all ports simultaneously. When charging small devices up to 1-2W it shuts down after 10-15min due to low current draw power saving mode, and you can't take it on a plane. Display button is confusing with lantern cuz it's the same button. Anker 2.3kg Jackery 950g Anker complete garbage. Jackery wins. Cheers buddy 👋🏻👍🏻
Thank you for a very helpful video . The loco on it's own is currently for sale on ebay for 35 pounds . I was going to buy it , but when you said it was vibrating at speed and became unstable it has put me off !
No problem, happy to help. Too bad it wasn't right for you but I can understand whyI also saw the Loco by itself but when you count everything, these "My first Tomix" sets are much better deals. If you have any questions, do not hesitate!
EcoFlow used to have the 210wh model called the River Mini, but it was discontinued. They actually used to have 2 versions of it; one version had a wireless phone charger on top, while the standard version did not. The only reason I know this is because earlier this year I purchased one of the Minis. I wanted to get a River 2, but the company I bought it from was all sold out at the time.
My first portable power station was the EB3A when it was just released. I hesitated between it and the River mini as the size and feature of it was very interresting. However in the end, battery chemistry used by both had me chose the Bluetti EB3A. If you are still looking for a River 2, may I suggest you look at the Ecoflow eBay store. They have Refurbished units with the same warranties as new with a significant discount (almost 50%). I got several as gifts for my family & friends and they are as nice and as good as new.
You can also find this feature in Triang OO gauge stuff. Since I did this Loco. I think that I have somewhere an original 1960s Dean Single "Lord of the Isle" in pretty bad shape that I am tempted to restore.
The only big show stopper when restoring these Dean Singles is the motor. It is not an X04 like most Triang but a custom version called the X05 made for the single wheelers. If the one in the locomotive is dead, then it is made out of "Unobtainium" so I won't be able to do it.
I just found the Dean Single where I stored it and... I now remember why I stored it in that well in the first place. it is in a very sorry state and some of parts are broken / missing on it. Ouch! This model actually have a pretty interresting story attached to it. I remember finding it while re-insulating the loft of an old house for a relative. No idea how long it was in that loft as they purchased the house almost 10 years prior to that event. On a bright note, motor seems to have some life left in it.
Good point. You will notice that their prices are really moving around depending on I don't know what. I just checked on Amazon and they are the price I mentioned except for the Adventurer that is now 69.99 $CA, 10 $CA more then last week when I filmed this video. Again, I suggest you get a kit with the unit you want. They usually are a better deal.
Bought both pieces yesterday, 4/16/24 on Amazon. VTOman 600x Jump $279. .. Deal of the Day. -$70.00 off (VTOman 600x $209)... 600x Extra Battery $239. ... -$25.00 promotional if you joined Prime. Total cost of BOTH units: $425/sans tax. Two positives about this unit glossed over are: 1. LiFePO4 battery. 2. Pass thru charging. .. In the running for buy of the year.
Nice buy! I checked here and unfortunately they do not make these deals on this side of the border. That end up being about 45 cents per watt! Thanks for pointing these positives out. I have to say that in 2024, unless a unit do not have those features where I would mention it, I take these almost for granted now. I'll remember it for my next portable power station review (yeah, I also purchased something during prime day!) .
@@leewaymodels Understood concerning battery cell composition. Your audience, however, is not necessarily up to date on battery cell composition differences, .. pros and cons. Many batteries on the market are still NOT LiFePO4.
Good point, will remember it. Since you just purchased it and will have the very lastest version of it, could you check if by any chance yours has a bi-directional USB-c port. Turns out that another power station I have has the feature without it being documented anywhere. It would actually cut down the charge time by half on this unit! The way to activate it on the other power station is to plug a USB-c cable in both the power station and the power source, THEN activate the button to enable USB power.
The powerpack sure were different. I wouldn't use them with modern locomotive though as I would be afraid to damage the locomotives and some electronics that are in them. Mechanism as a whole are also much more efficient in modern model trains compared to the older ones, this is why they can now crawl using very little power.
