Cannes film festival? You woulda think the attendees at such an event would've been the first ones to see and appreciate the brilliance of the film and the actors...
I feel so bad for them... trying to get another question in to end on a positive note only to get an even more obnoxious one - what the hell is wrong with these "fans"?!
It must be crazy to be a part of a movie that was initially completely boo’ed at the Cannes film festival, but is now considered one of the greatest pieces of film and acting in David Lynch’s filmography. That’s GOT to be a good feeling.
To sing "Up In Flames" in front of notes that have nothing to do with what you're singing is an INCREDIBLE feat. The dissonance is beyond anything I have ever heard in popular music.
Interesting to hear about the two unfilmed Cooper scenes in the early draft - Cooper in bed with Laura, and Laura sitting on Cooper's lap. That seems to be further confirmation that Cooper is born in Laura's mind as a replacement father figure for Leland. He's in bed with her to show that he comes from the same place as Bob - a mask for Leland. And she sits on his lap like a child with her father. Also, the garmonozia planet - garmonbozia is pain and sorrow, so the idea of explaining that Bob and Mike come from a garmonbozia planet is simply that they were born out of fear and sorrow. Again, a product of Laura's mind.
Wow - I really love this discussion! Would LOVE it if some of you could do a follow-up, in which you go into a lot more depth speculating about the possible directions a Mulholland Drive series would have gone in - - with special focus on topics raised in the New Yorker article.

aaah! the souvenirs of the music in the background! haha! just heard about the animation thing today and this was a great (eventhough a lot of work) idea! discovered you last year at work, as I'm working the night shift in a grocery store. I was tired of music and got into the rabbit hole of Twin Peaks Podcasts! you were my first! Brian, your reactions are awesome! Ben, I really like all the stats and enterviews and both of you are great to listen to! still listening to the new ones as I'm still listening to ones I skipped to get right to the gooddies of the show! great stuff! I'm lucky I'm mostly alone in my section as you guys and me are having these "great discutions"... just like yelling at the t.v. for a hockey game!😅only the floor cleaner guys can hear me and must be saying:"shut up! you're talking into thin air!" 🤣sorry for the long and not so well written comment and keep on the good work... eventhough you guys are retiered... maybe???😅 Like David would say on the weather report at the end:" HAVE A GREAT DAY!" helloooOOOoo!!! from Canada Québec near Montréal!
