We just picked up a 2020 Chevy Bolt Premier with 11,000 miles for $15,000 after $4K tax credit. It still has four year and 89,000 miles on the battery warranty and 12 months 12k miles bumper to bumper. There are some great deals out there if your willing to drive a few hours to pick up.
Nice find and congrats on the Bolt. Used prices right now are awesome if you look around. Sometimes you have to go a little distance, but it is very much worth it. Thanks for sharing.
I was traveling in Colorado in July - 800 miles from home - and had this happen (same warning and errors) to my 2021 Bolt. Like you, the battery capacity was dropped down to 30% max which was not enough to get me between charging stations on the way home. The local Chevy dealer diagnosed it within a day as requiring a (free/warranty) battery replacement, which would take a month (!). I rented a car for that time and drove back a month later. I am waiting for my refund for the return trip costs from GM.
It must take several days to charge a tesla from a 10A wall outlet? I would spend my money an å proper charger and a more powerfull outlet. I lige in Norway and almost none charges EV from wall outlet here.
It does take a while to charge at around 1kW. Which is why most people opt for Level 2 charging when they can. Some people who rent or don't have access to 240v in their garage, will live off of 120v charging as long as possible.
@@TechMotoring okay. In Norway i think it's normal with at least 16A charger. Very many has 32GB charger. So between 3.6 to 7kw. Is normal here in norway.

I had the 'propulsion ' error on my 2020 Bolt and within 1/2 hour they said they were replacing the battery. Now 9 days later they have installed a new battery & it's ready to be picked up.
Hi , I have a 2018 Santafe , no navigation. I have used 64 gb usb xfat, my car doesn’t recognize it. It says “insert the memory that contains the update”. Is it because it is 64 gb? I have called Hyundai twice & they are no help. Also, I have put the flash drive in the usb after I start the car. Could that also be an issue? Thanks !
Not 100% sure since I wasn't there, but I think it was around $20k. You should take a look at my recent video of his high voltage battery going bad and it getting replaced by GM. Thanks for watching.

@@TechMotoring I didn't like how they were advertising for like a year that the Equinox was going to be so affordable and yet the models that they have out right now are in the mid to upper 40s and even 50. It's like they're banking on the tax rebate which has nothing to do with discounting the vehicle
Over a year of using it and it has not shown any signs of wear. I feel like it is holding up real well. Is it better than the real leather? Perhaps, but knowing I can swap this out easily if it gets beat up is nice.

One year into owning my 2020 used Chevy Bolt bought with 21K miles. Love it. I don't think I can ever go back to a gas engine. Super fast, quiet, and smooth.
I plug my usb in and it just starts playing system sound wave files off the drive but doesn’t detect the update itself on the thumb stick. It’s aggravating
I can’t access the rear camera on the app? The icon doesn’t show up. Wire is plugged in and have swap the quality from 4k to 2.5K and still not showing, any idea?
Great video, but I have one question. After looking at the crash test results for this car, I have some concerns about the area above the windows, as there are airbags there. The last thing I want is for a cable to interfere with their deployment. What’s your opinion on this? I'm thinking about rerouting the wire to the floor.
It's a good idea to run the cable along the floor. This is something I did not consider when installing mine as I forgot about the side curtain airbags.
If you decide to remove the NEMA 14-50 plug from the charger and hardwire it into a box. You can then run it at 48 amps, providing you have the proper wire and breaker size.
Yes, hardwiring the charger is the best way to get the max 48Amps given that you will be using a 60amp GFCI circuit breaker in a dedicated circuit with proper grounding.
I'm not an electrician, I have a question. i buy mach i. Why can't i charge a car for 8 hours at 48 amps with a nema 1450 connector? with this charger.
As per electrical code. If you have a NEMA 14-50 outlet, then you can only have a maximum of a 50 amp breaker on that circuit. It you have a sustained load on that circuit for more than 3 hours, then you are only allowed a load of 80% of that circuit rating. Meaning only 40 amps are allowed for sustained load. Keep in mind this is U.S. code and I can't speak for other countries.
The NEMA 14-50 outlet can provide up to a maximum of 50 amps of power. The NEC regulation recommends using only 80% of the circuit breakers capacity. For example if the circuit breaker is a 50amp breaker then you should only set your charger top 80% of that which is 40amp. This a general NEC recommendation for all electrical devices.

Workplace charging will be the biggest contributor to EV adoption. If you know you can charge someplace you have to be multiple times per week then it becomes as convenient as home charging. Saving a lot of time every week as well.
I have a used one and I purchased it june 2024 and I'm still waiting for a resolution. Mine has not worked since I got the car. Im very disinchanted! this is one of the selling points for me. but they act like its not important and I am still chasing them and its now almost september!
👍 on the review. I got one for my Niro and got to test it at a magicdock SC. Worked great, didnt get warm no issues with the latches. Road trips will be nice once Hyundai/Kia gets access someday.
