So wonderful!! ❤️🌟👏🏻👏🏻My dear Dad was a Canadian soldier in WW11, so very proud of all their service and sacrifices that all armed forces personnel made, so that we would have our "freedom" today! 👏🏻👏🏻🥇🏆❤️ "Lest We Forget"...🙏🏻
A beautiful voice singing memorable songs. Quite emotional for me, I have a picture of my father on VE Day. He was stationed at Top Cliffe near York in NE England. He is playing the piano with his comrades around. Not a single smile on any face ........... the traumatic and emotional scars were just starting, scars they would carry for life. War is hell.
I was born on D-Day June 6th 1944. Grew up in the aftermath and have always known they were indeed, The Greatest Generation.... Thank God they lived and save mankind .....
Terrific. But now, sadly, Britain is being destroyed by globalists, race baiters & Islamists. I hope they awaken the old spirit & come to their senses 🙏
This is one of the stranger things I have encountered. But her voice is in good shape here! She must also have been a big star in Sweden (or at least a very familiar face), beyond the classical music world.
She was spontaneously funny as a person and humorous, many people have admitted. She also understood that - and used it - when she was interviewed or performed in Swedish Television. Somehow humor and personality can “build a bridge” to an audience who doesn’t like opera.
Vera was the heart and soul of 'the time' ..She touched on those spaces which we can only dream of...It was just the time and the human being she was.! When I watch her films, and they makes me happy..When I see her in remembrance shows they make me proud....Those times now are lost in endless passages but Vera will continue to live on for ever! xxxx A statue is planned for her .on the white cliffs of Dover... If you see info on this....support it !
I remember hearing about Miss Lynn, when my uncles came home all safe in 194 5 ,I was 9 yrs, old and remember it well. They loved her and so did my family too. God Bless her ,rest in peace and thank you.
Remember I watched this show on tv.. Imagine she also song these songs 50 years earlier for the soldiers... it´s amazing and brings tears in my eyes even I´m only 55 yeras old. But my dad and grandparents remebered these songs and the time.. I have a lot of Veras original recordings on 78`Rpms.. and often listen to them....
The world famous Swedish soprano Birgit Nilsson and the Swedish actor Johannes Brost inform the Swedish people about safety at sea in a TV program called "Anslagstavlan".
@@MattiasStockholm Well, I read THAT. But the words in the film? Or the story line? What I see is this: A half-naked guy tries to start the engine of his boat, a sirene (?) sings a bit, the guy falls dead to the side and, after that, swims a little. No alcohol, no accident ...
You are right! Actually nothing about alcohol in the very act. If I had time, I would translate it for you. He (Johannes Brost in the boat) first ignores and then challenges the Sea (Birgit Nilsson) and he shouts bad words at the Sea and finally she punishes him by saying: “The mosquitos come early this year!” The after-following sign warns people to not drink when at sea. This was a Swedish TV campaign from the 80’s in four or five parts (I have the others too, but not published here) from a Swedish authority to inform and warn people, because a lot of people in Sweden drink and sail - and drowns - when summer comes.
Here I am in Denmark and see Vera and the English people and how proud they are when you see that concert Vera, they also have reason because they rose up against the enemy and never gave up...
