I would think the k66 key is supposed to fail so the transmission doesn't get damaged. The hub failed for sure welds aren't designed to break. At the end of the day would you want a broken key or a broken transmission?
Should also add that the basic functions are the same as the earlier Simplicity Conquest. Manual lift, foot pedal control, manual steering, The Conquest did come with a diff lock being the trans difference. I will be doing 2 more K66 to change the axles/hubs and axle seals as those are leaking.
This is an air cooled 80. The cases are different because of the liquid cooling and power valve. It will wind up pretty fast and with the 2 stroke improvements I do, (gear for gear) it will stay along side the newer ones.
