Yup I go to the chiropractor twice a week. Only way I can function. I was sick last week and seems a lot of people around here have been sick the last few weeks. And I don’t ever recall this many people getting sick in the middle of summer.
@@obieacres4676 we’ve been getting .4 or .2 here and there everything still looks lush green but we really could use an all day 1 inch rain pretty soon
Those were great tractors! I think they made the 05 series going into 1978, my 1105 is a 1977 year make. The cabs are great, controls in the right locations, great visibility all the way around, including the drawbar. I think the roominess of the cab sets it apart from the JD soundgard cabs. The long wheelbase makes IMHO for a smooth ride and you are right, the power steering is nice and it is a nimble tractor for its size. Great video…👍
Like you, we had a 5000 growing up as a kid. It was our “big” tractor and we did everything with it- plow, disk, plant. It was a great tractor. Fords never got as much hype and bluster as the green ones, but certainly performed ever bit as well. Classic tractor
As iconic the 4020 was to JD I think the 5000 was to Ford. I think its size was matched perfectly to farms at that time that made it versatile for all jobs. I think most farmers started using semi mounted plows and had no use for draft control and never learned about using it. I've used the load monitor on mine a couple of times but never liked how it leaves a saw tooth effect. I guess ther is a way to time how it lifts but never really tried playing with it that much. I miss that excess fuel button. When I swapped motors new one had a rotary injection pump instead of that inline. Most times it starts with just glow plugs anyway.
We used to have an 881 Selct-O-speed with a loader. I loaded lors of piled manure with it. You get in a rhythm with the inching pedal and Select-O-speed level it was just like using a left hand reverser today. Its the only tractor ee used to own i know where its at. The guy restored it but not sure if or how much he uses it. Select-O-Speeds are what he collects and does use in his farm operation.
That’s awesome. We had a few that we fixed up. They got a bad reputation but are pretty good tractors for certain applications. Thanks for watching. I wish I could help you fix that Air conditioner I like doing that stuff
@@obieacres4676 I've always heard that about the S O S, but considering the number of times I've shifted between R1 and 4th loading 💩 and never having a single issue I would almost say they're bulletproof. 😂 I think the biggest thing was that Ford made parts obsolete. I'm sure there are aftermarkets out there, I just never needed to look for parts.
That’s a good video. I have the same Sanden compressor kit in my 1105. I believe I lost the charge over winter and haven’t had time to troubleshoot. I believe the culprit is the high side Schrader valve on the compressor is leaking. Like yours, when the AC is working, it gets cold and makes a lot of condensation in these very humid mountains. How many lbs of 134a are you putting in after evacuating the system? Or do you use another method to meter in the charge? Thanks for the video!
I noticed the John Deere sweeps was following the tire on the field cultivator. Now I'm not defending JD but my sweeps always wear faster that follow the tires. I have only used Nichols for as long as I can remember just because that's what the dealer sells. I don't have any complaints.
I had johndeere sweeps on the whole thing and they suck everywhere. The only reason I switched 5 years ago was because they offered the free adapter with them.
@@obieacres4676 I just can’t not believe that. All I’ve ever heard was how awesome the Deere green stuff was. Obviously you must be biased on your thoughts. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@obieacres4676 I like the quick change ones then you don’t have to deal with bolts. I don’t know if anybody other than Deere makes those sweeps that can go on the Quick change adapters. Maybe somebody should then they could take some business away from John Deere.
Glad you are getting things done. I bet you got rain today. We had a front roll through this morning and now another one rolling in. Gonna be a while before I can do anything again.
Obie acres. You got a lot of noise pollution ,just like all that racket out in DC We run White 6100 & JD 7000 whistles and bells for their age they work okie dokie .
Good morning Obie acres ! Biblical term Servant of God. .We are soldiers in God's army, if you pray daily you are a prayer Warrior I also. Y'al know there's a lot of people out there that need salvation , they know all about farming, but come up short when it comes to the Lord.
You will like it once you get the hang of it. They are actually pretty simple planters we have 3 of them in my family. It's very frustrating when harnesses are pinned out wrong with iso systems I've been there.
Yes my Nephew is a Caseih tech and he wired it. He said there was no wiring diagram in the service manual. He just used standard ISO pin out. Ag express had the correct pin out
