Whole new respect for Jake after watching this, I saw the point you were trying to make and you’re right , you don’t have to wait for your desires / goals to hit to practice mindfulness , you can strive for success while developing presence/happiness
I’m going through it right now too and this one really resonates. Self respect is at the core of where I’m at. I have to respect that a lot of the time I’m doing my best but more often, I need to demand more from myself, in order to build up that self respect and esteem. I’ve cut out a lot of the bad shit and commend myself for that but there’s many things where I have to step up more such as my schedule and discipline, Another thing is to accept my current circumstances. I HATE my current circumstances and the situation I’m in and the way I’m forced to live in as a result. But I’m realizing that I have to accept those circumstances, no matter what. This is where I’m at right now and this is where I have to be and this is what I have to do in order to eventually be where I want to be. I can’t ever make progress while losing so much time and energy from resisting my current situation, instead of making actual progress. Acceptance isn’t about liking or agreeing with or succumbing to things but about acknowledging the facts and focusing on the solutions to get out. Lastly, I think back to something you guys mentioned once and I remember it brought me lots of peace at the time but I forget about it too often: “If you do the things you know you need to do, then you don’t need to worry about the future”. The rest is up to God, I think, but only if I’m doing my part and have faith. Hope you’re all able to turn things around soon too. Keep it up with the internal episodes, they’re the best. 🤙🏻

Guilt and shame, for me, feels like a poison from the love I had to share with my world, love that has to come out from within or it dies inside, turning into many different defeating afflictions that take up room in my heart that was intended for love from another. It's easy to read that guage and see it on empty when there's no one around to tell me, it's ok. Shame and guilt is like dying in flames inside and not asking for help. Because it hurts worse when you cry out for help, and no one comes. Or cares. I don't know how many times negative situations happen anymore. If I'm the only one around to take a count, does it really even matter?

Hey Jake man I love your videos and everything what ever you told really helped me but recently I’m just not feeling good and I wanted to know if I can get some advice about you. Just like you I dated for five years and I was the best as a man can be to this person. But I need to ask you something so I hope you can contact me or reply to this post it would really help if I can get some help from you. If not your videos did help me a lot but I just went through something again with my ex and well I just thought about what you said about yours.
