Thanks, make sure it isnt a unfinished project as it will need an SVA/IVA that could cost you £1000 and a lot of grief. Mine had been standing for about 5 years in a damp garage, although it had SVA/IVA it still gave me grief due to the brakes that had siezed on and due to the fact I was unable to test drive it, a lot of problems were found later, mainly down to the build quality. All the best...Lee
@robinhood2bkitcar766 appreciate the advice, ideally I want one I can jump in and use as I've already got my 90s mustang that's currently a project and I'm halfway though converting my camper van so no more big projects lol You've done a superb job on yours and I've dropped you a follow to keep updated. 😀
The clutch on mine seems fine, however I have only driven it up my drive and back. The trouble with buying kit cars is that you dont know what parts the previous builders have used, it might have a different pressure plate, unfortunately the only way to find out is to take the gearbox off and have a look. All the best...Lee
Its on the gearbox tunnel between the seats. If you look closely you can see 6 captive nuts on the tubes. I have made a plate that bolts on and the handbrake bolts to the plate. Will show you in the next video when I start putting it back together...all the best..
Well it was a long time ago, the company was call "Dynasystems" not sure if they are still about. All their products were top quality but they were expensive, well worth it as I have used the rivnut tool so many times. It also does 8mm steel rivnuts. Hopre this is of help..
Well at least it moves under its own power.Brakes can be a problem if it has been sitting for a while as I found out with mine. A kitcar is only as good as its builder, all the best with your build.
Thanks, did think of stone chip, didnt want a spray as I would have to mask it up. Being lazy was just going to use a paint brush or soft roller. Once the seat is back in you wont see much of the painted area. Thanks so much for your imput.
Sure it will fill up with junk. Did think about moving the fuel filler but couldnt think of a way to fill up the hole left by the filler. Have ordered a 45 bend for the original filler neck, hopefully this will help to stop the splash back.
It looks horrible as it is. As soon as it passes the mot I will cut it back and reweld with just a small hoop sticking out. Havn't got a spare wheel for it anyway. Will look so much better and I can relocate the number plate to a better position......Thanks for your opinion, it has helped to make up my mind.....will make sure my AA membership is up to date..
