for sure not any of those looney tunes cartoon caveman wallets. Overly thick and stiff, unfinished edges, cartoonish hand stitching, zero relief or tapering. It's crude, unrefined, unsophisticated and the kind of thing only MEN, and a certain type of men, the kind that carry an edc knife, likely a spiderco, and can't dress themselves would actually look at twice. No woman in the world would buy that stuff. you want to see how it's done right, look at Italian and French brands known for their leatherwork that have been around longer than the US has existed as a country. But it's the best Murican leather and it's made in Murica, did I mention Murica yet? Murica! durrrr. So what leather do I use? Boxcalf and or deer. Has no resemblance to those monstrosities.
What deer leather are you using for wallets? Much too soft for my preference. Also, what Italian and french leather brands that are more than 250 years old?
@@Joshwiththefries For the inside, sure. Maybe the age was exaugurated but the traditions in the regions known for these crafts are certainly that old.
About scratches and marks on the leather case it’s not proof is it leather or jot. I had 3 cards holder by Secrid made from genuine leatjer. 2 of them get marks when you scratch them but 1 not. I can scratch by nail many time doesn’t leave any marks. Same brand same quality but different type of leather. Also i contact the company and tjey said inner buttons side are covwrwd wirh soft plastic material and can’t scratch buttons, that will see. I like the case it’s very clean and precise made. Smell like genuine leather. I don’t know for others but i recommend this vase fr thoose which search for alternative light but protective case
I've learned a bit since then. Could be genuine leather, but Genuine leather is generally low grade, often times bits and pieces of other leather if I recall. It's the finish over the material (Lonli says it's leather) that I really had the problem with. It's thick, feels plasticky and takes away from the asthetic. Also, mine browned a lot over time. Not in a nice patina'd pattern, but in a dirty, off colored way. Trying to see if I can find mine - I've moved since I made this video so I may have thrown it out. But if I dig it up I'll get a photo so you can see. I'd like to give Lonli another look (if and when I ever find time to do videos again) but I can not recommend this case. For $20 I'd give a non-leather case a look.
Thank you for reviewing our product! Just like what @El_Guap has said in the comment, the reason our Classic Series doesn’t develop a patina is because the leather is treated with protected finish. We have different series that’s made out of different leathers with different treatments. If you are looking for a leather case that develop Patina we would strongly recommend trying our Edition series.
Appreciate you reaching out. If I ever find the time to do videos again between life and my day job, I'd love to give it a look. I'll be honest, this one missed the mark for me and I can't recommend it. But that was a few years ago, and it would be fun to take a look at what you've been up to. If you want, we can talk further at keysphonewallet1@gmail.com. I'd be happy to share more about what I experienced with the case.
I’m hoping apartments electronically fob will hold nicely. So instead of juggling my keys on my carabiner to unlock doors, I can just ship thing thing out and be about my way
Think it just depends on the product. There's a lot of really good synthetic and a lot of poorly done split grain. Do you include top grain when you say split?
it’s the real full-grain leather, I don’t know how to explain it, but scratch would go away by its own, it’s just the moving of oil from one place to another.
If you ever get a full-grain leather product, try it. The oils and material will slowly fade so that you don't see the scratch. It maybe lasts for a day depending on how much you handle it.
I love the spruce color I just got for my 15 Pro. I got the Edition series, not the Classic series. I like the feel better on the Classic series but the leather smell would knock you down on the Classic series. The one I bought smelled and felt just like leather. I was just happy they finally put out the spruce color for the Edition line. I definitely recommend it.
Ha I probably need to make a follow up video, but I need to see if I still have it. It doesn't wear like leather. Unlike other leather cases, it looks worse the longer you own it. Mine turned black and grimy - didn't look like patina at all.
Sorry, no sale. My own Secrid wallet is gathering dust on some shelf. I bought it mostly because I liked the clever lever, but in my front trouser pocket it turned out to be too bulky and too heavy. When it damaged the Victorinox Swiss card in the same pocket, that was the end. I now happily use the smaller, lighter i-clip, which, as an added bonus, makes insertion/removal of paper money much easier.
Thanks for the feedback. That’s interesting to hear it was too tight for your front pocket. I wear skinny jeans and it fits comfortably. What damaged your card? The lever?
@@bry0000000 Bulky: this feeling may have been agravated by the contrast to "card only"; the card is so thin and light that I have to check to be sure it's there. The Secrid weighs more than twice as much even when empty, and puts enough pressure against my thigh that I definitely know if it's there. (I can't reliably feel the I-clip). The lever? Possibly - I can't really tell; about two weeks after buying the Secrid, the corner where the small pen resides had a crack, and when I removed the pen, a triangular bit of plastic fell off. Luckily, Victorinox is one of those companies with a good warranty policy. For 4€ p&p (and six weeks waiting) I could have it sent to Switzerland for repair, even though it had clearly sustained mechanical damage.
With all do respect.... Shell Cordovan is the Best Leather you can get. Get yourselves a Shell Cordovan wallet. Horween or Shinki tanneries are some of the best.
Just ordered mine. Misc good slim tuck leather wallet, tan number 2. Can’t wait to receive it. I have a lot of leather wallets, but this one is just good high quality leather. I can’t wait to rock it for couple years. Thanks for the review
@@justinbrewer6899 loving it. The leather smells amazing. It’s a high quality leather, I can’t wait for it to age. It’s definitely better then all the big leather wallets that I own.
