I get that you want wanted a manual but the mazda 3 turbo is not NA and gets about 230 horsepower with 310lb ft of torque. Had you just gone with that im sure you wouldnt have made the switch to the RS which has less than the M3 Turbo.

Some 8.5x18 Enkei T6Rs with +38 offset still poke just a touch, and the 245/40R18s(Continental ExtremeContact's) they're wrapped in just barely tuck up into the fender well under full compression. Seriously, big appreciation for the details and the specs being mentioned because I wasn't even sure where to start measuring to make sure the wheel/tire combo I wanted would actually fit. Seeing the clear view of your fitment at @8:10 along with the detailed info gave me all I needed to pull the trigger on my setup.

I've been driving this machine for almost 4 years now. Max spec leased unit. If it was my own, I would have invest to alter the body work a bit to make it the greatest hatch ever seen. Mazda 3 2019-2024 are just awesome machines. Such an amazing car to drive with one great exception. This car hates aquaplaning, scary to be honest. (Soul of a cat)Other than that, it sticks to the road like cray cray. The wet is like you stated not a problem, but waterpools omg stay away. I give all my cars a name. I will never forget the "Dragon Fly". I still have 4 months to drive it, and no sign of the 2025 model yet. I just don't feel like ordering the same machine again. I loved what you did to your car.
I picked up my non turbo last night! Took a lot of mulling things over, a lot of research, and speaking to a couple of owners to finally decide against the turbo but glad I went that way. The regular model has PLENTY of punch, especially at higher RPMs.
The mazda 3 hatch back turbo has given me the same love i've not felt since i was like a 14 year old when I first found out about the WRX, this is such an awesome car, great daily driver and pretty affordable as well for what you get. God I love the WRX, childhood love- but damn the competition is just getting to good to pass up- maybe this is part of growing up.

I’m sad you moved on from the Mazda 3 platform, but hey despite that I will continue to support you on your build journeys. Maybe one day we’ll get to see you back on Mazda. 😢
