I fished mine with single belly 3/0 and flag on back , I feel like the action with two trebles is better overall but single belly treble is safer for the fish and easier for us , inline hooks drop too many fish so I won’t use them , but I also fish fast too bad for inline hooks but good for treble

Tried every reel and rod combo there is to try from Bull bay to crowder to penn to Dark Matter to UglyStiks. To Penns to Shimanos to Daiwas to Van Staals. You name it, I’ve tried it. Still haven’t found a better, more budget friendly inshore combo than a Shimano Stradic 3000. Paired on a 7’ Ninja Tackle Dagger “do it all” inshore Rod. Really does do it all. Best Rod/reel combo I’ve ever set up.
@@SaltwaterEdge Ah the Untied States of Achronims. They simplified English in the early 1900s for the Rednecks and Hillbillies and you lot are still trying to make words 100 years later .
I am looking at either the Surf Machine or The Weapon. I will be using it primarily at inlets (high current) in Florida and off the beach for Snooks and Reds. Which rod would work better for this application? Thanks
Great info. I see this a few years old. Any update in technology? I am in NE and mainly fish for Stripers (Jigging on East End LI Orient/SouthShore), Ocean Fluke, Seabass, Blacfish, Porgies. Would like a great all-around casting rod. Have been seeing lots of Slow Pitch setups. what would you recommend?
@@SaltwaterEdgeI kind of want to try slow pitch setup. Was looking at a Dark Matter Jig and Bounce Casting rod for Ocean use. It would be paired up with an Avet SX or Daiwa Lexus 300 series. Most of my fishing is out of Orient Point or South shore of long island. All inshore. The boat captain had a beautiful Slow Pitch custom rod with Daiwa Saltiga 10h. Pulled up a 20lb bass with ease TIA
just ordered 3 z fin big game lures and the 10 inch big game sand eel color for tuna this season. hoping for a good one this year, already caught a slot recreational size on our first outing. tight lines capt!
Great video! Just wondering, I happened to find a website that seems like is your guys website but not sure if it is a scam version. Was looking to purchase the Diawa Saltist 20 but don't want to purchase it until I have confirmation that I am indeed on the official "The Saltwater Edge" website. If you have the time I would greatly appreciate you linking the official website to me. Thank you so much and have a great day.
I did not use wind-on leaders as I did not know what to do. EXCELLENT instructional video. Headed to my local tackle shop to buy some wind-on leaders!!!
i have a van staal vsx 200 and sometimes when i cast the roller will catch the line without me manually doing it it results like a closed bail how do i fix it?
Ok try making sure the line roller is on the left of the line when you cast. You may have to adjust where the line roller starts based on your casting style. Try a few different positions casting the same lure and you should find the sweet spot
Great equipment overview. I’m fishing outside Tokyo in the Pacific for yellowtail, mahi, amberjack and tuna. Here, they generally recommend solid to split rings at the terminal end. I’m also using an fg knot on the leader (nylon or fluoro) and a Palomar or Centauri knot for the solid ring.
what is it really? colt sniper or current sniper? or it's just the same? box says coltsniper, but you keep saying current sniper. please clarify. thanks
I have had 3 Van Staals and i will never buy another. They have discontinued the service kits and made getting parts too difficult. All links to kits and parts on their website are deactivated. I guess they think i'm dumb enough to give them another $800, because they made parts too difficult to get for the VS and VSX.Its sad how they are treating their customers.
