The concept of primary and secondary PSAPs is frustrating. I understand that its necessary in some systems, but having to ask basic questions (especially location and nature) more than once is a very inefficient process.
I agree, just having one person handle the whole call. People then will become frustrated having to repeat information and during any emergency there blood pressures high, there not thinking clearly, there anxiety is going so having to reexplain it would make it difficult and piss the person off just cause there already not cool, calm and collected.
Miss the voice of the 911 operators talking on the radios the old way .. the new way with the AI ASSIST saves alot of time to get more calls out... thank you all for your service
WOW does this bring back some memories. I grew up in Ballwin and back in the early 70's was a Junior and Volunteer fireman with what was then the Ballwin Fire Protection District, under the direction of Chief Frank Rucker. I lived on Elm Street (where the Lowes is now) and spent much of my free time at Station 1 helping out around the firehouse, riding along on the trucks to calls and even acting as dispatcher when emergency calls came in. The district had 3 stations, #2 in Castlewood and #3 the old station when it was in Grover.
