Crystalline glaze pottery evokes all the senses. The smooth lines of porcelain create a milky white canvas that lets the eye float over the piece and discover the crystals unique to each creation.

Crystalline pottery was introduced in Europe during the mid 1800's. It wasn't until 1960 that crystalline potters started emerging in the US. Today, there are very few potters specializing in Crystalline glazes. It is a difficult process requiring exact tolerances resulting in an extremely high failure rate. But when everything goes right, the results are spectacular!

How beautiful! I am so envious! I am taking Ceramic Classes right now, and would love to know more about cristalline glazes. I fell in love with it, the moment I saw it. Is there a book you would recomend? Thank you for sharing! From Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Kris. Your pottery - shapes, decorations and glazes - is absolutely gorgeous! It was very interesting hearing about your process and watching you work. I have a home workshop and a computerized electric kiln, and I think this is WAY too exacting for me - so I will just admire your stuff instead! :-)

beautiful. I also had a wonderful pottery teacher in highschool and am now getting back into it. This is far above my level though!

beautiful work..I would like to see you explain in detail the process you use for applying the glazes and proparing the pieces for glazing as I believe this is a critical part of the procedure.

Hey. Charles Hightower here. I've been doing crystalline for about 3 years now. I'm in Evansville, IN. Love your work. Video is top notch. Your slip decoration reminds me of Matt Longs work.
