Played that chart several times in the Army band program. In this recording, that's gotta be Dick Shearer playing lead. Loudest trombone player on the planet!
Wasnt expecting the jazzy bluesy portion at all! Sounds glorious, although holy crap the accelerando at the end is insane! I wish i was even close to good enough to play something like this for a live audience 😂
Writing this for practice sake, maybe it will help another person too. 😅 *All the time frames are for tuba entrances, not exact measures. 1.) Allegro Deciso First Entrance: 0:31 a Tempo I: 1:17 Legato Section: 2:00 #6: 3:08 #7: 3:37 #8: 4:00 #9: 4:38 #10: 5:03 #11: 5:33 Ending: 6:17
I performed the first 2 movements of this suite for my jury last semester. I'm going to be doing a few videos of the 3rd movement on my RU-vid channel. I'm a music education major at Mesa Community College. Great job on this video! Which software do you use? I use MuseScore for the score videos on my channel.
Last month I auditioned on this piece, it would have been nice to have such a good recording like this for reference. I still got first chair though. Sounds great.
Excellent work from a composer I've never heard of! Gregson seems to struggle with arranging creatively for strings though it seems. It's not even that similar but the main theme reminds me of the "I Had a Dream" motif from the musical Gypsy every single time it plays 😂
