Hellow ! Thats a nice video. I tried uploading a csv file, however I am experiencing a challenge. When I upload data with leading zeros, like a phone number, It ommits the zero and treats it like an Integer. Can you assist me on that ?
@@imaleonard376 you could try inserting a ‘ before the numbers with leading zeros to see if it then interprets those fields as text. This is just a guess.
Dear Sir, It is definitely useful video. I am using the 22.11 version of Koha but I didn't able to create new page and place it. After watching your tutorial i am using the option successfully. Thanks once again.
Unlike Koha, looks like FOLIO ILS does not have an online demo the librarians could evaluate without third party guidance. Should only rely on third party software vendors like EBSCO to get access to a demo. That doesn't seem fair in the sense of the spirit of self managed open source software.
I need that first template, add a holding record! I have foolishly not done something right in setting Koha up, I have patrons entered and books in but I can't check any books out.
Hello, do you know if there's a way to use this function to convert a large amount of bibliographic records from Dewey Decimal system to Library of Congress? I already have the records in Dewey Decimal, but we are about to merge a lot of those into a different library which we use Library of Congress. (normally I would just do it all manually since they aren't really 100% convertable and not all of them will exist as records in both databases)
I guess it may depend on what the "large amount" is? If it's the whole catalogue then it would probably be best to do it outside of Koha. This would be possible in MarcEdit for example. You could certainly use the MARC modification templates to remove a Dewey field and also to add a new LoC field from an incoming record. However, with large sets this is not always the practical approach!
@@PTFSEurope It might be around 10,000 books. I mean I'm still going to have to do the re-labeling physically, so it will be a long process either way :p . I have MarcEdit and I've only used it for Importing an Excel list for Patrons/users. (We have 2 Library locations/branches, all books on the same Koha client/interface and we're simply transferring the book from one library to the other, physically. Just that my library is LCC :p)
