This channel has grown up as I have - my first video was posted when I was 13 years old (over 10 years ago...which is crazy!), and it's pretty evident to see how much I've grown and matured.

From my original dream of being a beauty blogger, to post-graduation life exploration, to my current output of travel vlogging, this RU-vid channel is an outlet of creativity for me.

I hope you enjoy watching these videos as much as I have fun making them :)

The differences are insane. The only disadvantage in Germany is, that so many really attractive high quality brands are not available at shops like DM. I miss here Jergens, Vaseline, EOS, Aveeno, Palmer's, St. Ives, Tree Hut, Olay and so many more... I buy them at international Drug Stores or at Amazon. The prices are comparable to those in the US. If I watch hygiene shopping, empties or recommendation videos for fun, I have the impression, the RU-vidrs and TikTokers from outside Germany try and know hundreds of interesting product brands but the typical German basic b.... only knows Balea, Balea again and absolutely surprisingly... Balea. I don't buy it at all because it's a totally overrated monopol in Germany without any international vibe and it's by far not as good to justify the hype. If I am looking for products on a budget, I buy them specifically at Aldi or Action, which is a very exciting store. If I would live in the US permanently, I probably wouldn't spent 10 Dollars on a deodorant or toothpaste either. Probably I would get many things at Dollar Tree and Five Below, which are very similar to Action in Europe. Only body lotions, creams and some body washes I would definitely buy from my favourite name brands.

With drugstore products, and especially with deodorants, you have to make sure that they don't contain any fragrances that have to be declared because they reduce the beauty of the skin, i.e. you get dark armpits over time. They are usually called linalool, geraniol, hexyl cinxamal, limonene. If the word perfume appears in the ingredients, that's a good thing because then you can be sure that fragrances have been used that have no negative effects. You could even spray them on wounds or in baby's eyes without anything happening. If the word is missing, they contain fragrances that have to be declared. Keep your hands off!

What’s the German word for crappy? Do they have a special word for the bad feeling of not finding clothes that fit well at the store?

My personal highlights in Saxony are Bautzen - the small version of Dresden, but without any war destructions - and Görlitz!!! IMO one of the most beautiful German cities but completely unknown (because it’s in the east), One of the very few cities that wasn’t damaged during WW2. Also it’s in the Lausitz region, the homeland of the Sorben (Sorbians). A Slavic people that has been living in the region for 1000 years and still keeps their traditions alive. They speak a language which is close to Polish and Czech and they’re very attached to the church

Thank you for making this, I would love to connect with you. Another video I would love to see is what to pack. Any tips for the application itself?
@LaurenMarie32300
@LaurenMarie32300 4 месяца назад
There’s three things the program is looking for: flexibility, resilience, and genuine interest in Germany. In your application materials and interview, make an effort to showcase that you are flexible in where you’ll be placed, what situations you’ll face, and also a willingness to not stick to rigid expectations. They also want to ensure that you are equipped with the skills and experience to be able to successfully navigate a year abroad, so being able to be a problem-solver, can advocate for yourself, and that you can handle being away from home. Lastly, show that you’ve done your research! Know about current politics and main politicians. Figure out why specifically you’re interested in Germany. I think keeping those things in mind will help you prepare a strong application!
