You are about to find out everything about sports nets, fishing nets, knots that will make your life easier and many other things realized with ropes, lines, wires etc.
Hi Could you be so kind as to doing a video of how to add another loaded needle? I've started making a cast net, hoping to get to 2meter long from horn to lead line. Currently I'm still making errors but carrying on regardless 🤪. Tieing more cord on it fiddly and not very pretty anx i can't find a video of how to add more cord Keeping my fingers crossed 🤞
Trying to learn for a couple of reasons. One, trying to get a job as a net repairman. And two, because my grandfather was a fisherman. He tried teaching me but I was really young and uninterested. It's a way to remember him by, bring me a bit closer to him in a way. It's a lot harder to do than it looks. Leaves untrained hands with blisters, too.
Literally the most annoying video . How about 1 speeding up the cleanup of loose end and then maybe 2. some cutting and editing the video to better zoom 3. Vocal instructions
Helo po matagal na po ako sa inyong kubo.. nag hihintay paren ako ng pag punta nyo saking kubo. isang karangalan po yun saakin ang inyong pag bisita plssss po thanks..plsssssssss
The net is hung the wrong way up......so you are mending side knots as pull downs, and pulldowns (or pickups) as side knots. Hung correctly, the meshes form a proper diamond when pulled taut, and the pulldown & pickup knots can be cleaned leaving a much more professional job. I have been in this business for 51 years.
@@86333able There is net-mending (which is acceptable if you want to get the net working as soon as possible), and then there is a professional repair that brings the net back to almost manufactured condition. Thanks for your comment btw.
Thank u I only catch lots of fish from river though do not have d skill to repairs but I belief that d man who know or do have repairs do always repairs they do not have d skills to catch fish fish fish......pish sound like hot puncture '😀😃
I think it was 2.5 cm max 3 cm so you were very close to right. When it comes to weights, I would say it depends on how deep you want the fishing net go in the water. Between 20-30 grams each.
So satisfying! You make it look so easy. I watched this in slow motion 10x and had to keep redoing it until I got it halfway decent. It's much harder with a small monofilament mesh, plus I was pretty drunk and high. Thanks for sharing!
SIR I Have an opportunity to join in Fishery survey of india, For the post of Net Mender and i received a call letter to attend interview, But in call letter they mentioned Net mending or Net repair skills, but i dont know any thing about Net mender, If u don't mind could u help me how should the work of net mender??
I only need to follow the "corners" of the meshes. There is where you connect. You start by connecting to an already existing "corner" (you create one by cutting naylon/meshes).
Thank you, I like your technique. But not your music... Would be better with a sea shanty or fisherman's song. I still study a quote on net repairing by an old fisherman. He advised: if you work from left to right you stick the needle from the bottom up. If you work to the left you stick the neer downwards, because the twine follows better the working direction. But my private 78 years old fisherman doesn't care. He is very similar to you... Like a piano player
I just used this guy's method on a small golf ball sized hole in a 3/8" monofilament net and it took hours... that string 1" mesh looked awesome but I found out real quick that thin mono twist up, curves, kinks and basically fights you on every knot. 3/8' is like your pinky so imagine holding and working a knot through a very small gap with a line that feels like a wet noodle that's always bent the wrong way. Def takes skill.
Just created a new video that shows you how to create your own netting needle. 20 min work -> ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NrETVBlDXo0.html
Where can I buy needles/shuttles like the one used in this video? I’ve looked all over and only been able to find them made of plastic and wood... Great video BTW, a tremendous help.
Glad you enjoyed it. You can easily use the wood or plastic needles, as they both work perfectly. The needle from this video I created by myself from scratch and I am thinking to upload a short explanatory movie, even if as already mentioned, wood and plastic ones are also perfect for this activity.
