Do you know how to programmatically select and edit exposed variables from widgetA to one of say 5 instances of widgetB? For example having multiple clicker buttons in an idle game all from the same modularized clicker widget and when clicking an upgrade button from a separate widget, update the amountPerClicked value of only one of the multiple clicker buttons? Think buying an upgrade for the lemonade stand in Adventure Capitalist.

12:00, for some reason, my client will get destroyed immediately, but the return value of the Damage is still 10. Server working fine.

I don't understand why I follow exactly all the steps in this tutorial many times but the result remains the same, I can't click the button, I use unreal 5.2.1, any idea how to solve this?

I followed the tutorial but I instead wanted to switch between the playerUI, PauseScreen and Deathscreen. I made a FlipFlop to alternate between my Pausemenu and PlayerUI (I'm just trying to swap between the active widgets). I can open the menu but why can't I close it?

Great tutorial. Very straight forward and easy to understand. Where is the previous video? I have a problem: UE5.2 My players both spawn on server but have no controls. I'm using a pawn as my character. I'm using the floating pawn movement component in my pawn for movement. My players use the same enhanced inputs (which are setup and work-just not in multiplayer). I start in a lobby level and then either host or join the listen server. I have all controls working in the lobby. In my pawn I have a switch has authority to check server/client and then I have 2 "run on owning client" events. One for the server and one for the client. I've used a delay until next tick as other comments suggested in the owning client event. I'm using a get controller attached to a cast to my player controller and then the enhanced input and mapping context. Do you have a screenshot of the character blueprint begin play where you setup the inputs or is there another video which talks about this? I also tried calling this on the player controller from the pawn different ways with no success. I only need to get the correct player controller and assign the enhanced input to it. I subscribed and paid $20 but the project I downloaded doesn't seem to be like the one in the video.

Map 1 takes between 20-40 minutes to complete. And it can be played over an over again to discover all anomalies. Map 2 is a bit harder and takes between 30-40 minutes to complete, can also be played lots of times. Map 3 is releasing this friday! We are now releasing a new map a week and plenty of new features each week too!

quick question (havent watched the series yet) after i finish the tutorial will i be able to play my game with a friend (who is on another network) i did a mp game tut some time ago but it was only working on LAN, then i got confused since another video used steam client to host (idk if that makes sense) i just want 1 player to be the host and the rest to join his match

In episode 8 we add the steam online subsystem so that you can play with friends across the internet. If you dont implement a steam subsystem then session are hosted on ur local network only. So unless you wish to open up your private home network to the entire world you’re going to need a subsystem like Steam or EOS to handle that for you. Otherwise the only option left are dedicated servers which cost money to rent.

Hey, first of all, thank you a lot, Kekdot, for those tutorials. They are awesome and really well explained. I'm following this tutorial using UE5.4, and I joined your Patreon for a month to try it out, and I'm absolutely grateful. Just to share with everyone here, I encountered a bug where the cast didn't work for the setup of BP_CoreCharacter inside of CoreWeapon. The reference was valid when casting and storing it in the variable, but I tried so many things and nothing seemed to work. I always got an error log saying that the reference of CoreCharacter was not set properly. I finally ended up fixing it by adding a "Wait Until Next Tick" node just before the bind event, and that worked. I'm still trying to figure out why, to be honest. Well, thanks again, and I hope this can help someone else who might be having the same issue.

Yeah, simply do exactly as it says. Use the GameMode class instead of GameModeBase which is intended for singleplayer games.

You have to memorize the environment. Suddenly things start changing and becoming weird which you and your team have to notice in order to escape. It’s backrooms inspired and contains freaky jumpscares and scary moments. 1-8 multiplayer

I am stuck and can't go any further. The For Each Loop never creates any Server Browser Items and I can't find out why. I've set everything up correctly and a print string on completed shows 0 for the array index but the Loop Body never prints any strings.

I'm trying to set a game name by introducing another vertical box in the Create Game blueprint where the player can enter the game name. I can't seem to figure out how to feed that name over to the Server Browser Item blueprint to populate the name instead of the session name.
