Nobody who carry condition 1 wants to talk about the number of NDs that happen vs people who actually are in a scenario of actually needing to draw and fire one off … let’s talk about it …. All I see if a bunch of keyboard warriors who think they know More than others because they watched John wick…. Carry how you’re comfortable, simple
I live between 2 hillsides, so I have about 300 ft across on the bottom, but the hillside on each side going up to about 100ft puts me a severe disadvantage. People won't need to come down, then can just sit back and observe, and snipe me. Any thoughts on this or any videos that might address this? Thanks.
The thumbnail photo is horrible. You would never want weeds or bush against your wooden wall. Not only does it give baddies concealment it is also flammable. I think HESCO barriers with a layer of razer wire might be the most durable for your outer perimeter. If not a five or six strand barwire fence with electric current running through it. You would also want a vehicle ditch (moat) around this as well. This way no one can drive up to your barrier or get close without getting soaked or ramming your barrier. If you have electric you could put amps into the water to stop people. If you want to be extra mean you drop razor wire into the water as well. No matter what you do you need to keep a clear line of sight from a bullet resistant position.
The Round-In-Chamber Crowd have a thousand and one senerios for carrying LOADED, even after they shoot themselfs they have more excuses than a dog has fleas. You cannot cure STUPID, but the courts can prevent STUPID from happening a second time by Black Listing you from owning a firearm in the future should you have an AD! It´s called "ENDANGERMENT!"
accidental shootings are caused by lack of respect for a firearm thought to be unloaded. If everything is always loaded you won’t have that attitude of “it’s not loaded I can point it wherever “
Fast forward to 2024. Just came across this video and can’t help laughing out loud. This guy is taking a basic home and turning it into a military fortress. First, you build concrete barriers, then you get sandbags, then you make a sniper tower, then you dig all the ground out around your house, and then you need another guard post and then you need traps… and voila, your house has now transformed into a “compound”. 😅 What a laugh.
I have carry both ways. Having come up from Law Enforcement with a revolver, the weapon was loaded with a round in the chamber. When I went to an Sig P220 double Action pistol, the first pull was long and the exposed hammer no safety was very safe. So the weapon was loaded with one in the chamber. When I was required to go to a Smith and Wesson M&P Shield, striker fired pistol, no safety except the finger off the trigger and no exposed hammer and short trigger pull, practice on duty with a loaded chamber. Off duty, EDC, if I carried a striker style pistol, I use the Israeli Method of carry. Same for the Sig P220. The slight delay, was a safer carry and with practice, just as effective.
If shtf bad enough that people are assaulting your home, you dont need an escape route. If things are that bad, escaping means leaving behind your stockpiled food, water and medicine which in turn means death.
The proper way of training is to rack that slide as soon as drawing, so when you come on target your ready there is no time delay, it also saves you if you get into combat hands on and your firearm is taken, it buys you time the assailant will fire and nothing happens before he realises, your on your next move, you need to be properly trained in the draw plus rack, before your on target it works like a dream, and a lot safer.
When I carry a pistol in a holster on my hip which is cumbersome to me, I have a round in the chamber. I don't like to carry a pistol on my hip as it is uncomfortable. So my EDC is a pocket pistol chambered in .380 it is a Ruger LCP Max which has no safety except for a trigger blade. I use no holster so In this case I carry in condition 3. Trust me when I say that I can draw the pistol and chamber a round in about 1.5 seconds. So to summarise: for me, it depends on how I am carrying.
Many people do not realize that when the emergency suddenly happens, your body goes into shock, wheather you realize it or not. At that point what you do is not always exactly what you have trained to do; if you train to pull your gun and then pull the trigger you may realize later (when its too late) that you actually pulled the trigger while you were pulling your gun whithout realizing it... NOT RECOMMENDED. The SAFE way is good.
Today is April 5, 2024, as a retired LEO, this video makes better sense to me. I will be adopting the Israeli method from now on. Thank you for this video.
lol 6ft hole and sharp stakes protruding from the ground I’ll injure a leg? Uh more like it’ll be most likely a fatal fall. Don’t get me wrong it’s a perfectly rational and intriguing idea! If you’re invited no problem. If you’re not invited you’ve got problems. 😂
Most in Israel are conscripts. The reason for this odd way of employing a weapon. Most conscripts do not want to serve in the first place and are not interested in being where they are forced to be.
As someone trained in the "Israeli Protocol" and in the US protocol, I can tell you that the speed difference is less than shon, as the shooter in the video did NOT draw per Israeli training method. We are trained to draw with our shooting hand hile the off hand is above and in front and as the gun is "pushed forward" the off hand gabs the "barrel" and thus the gun is dran and ready by the time it gets out front. I recommned looking at Caliber 3 videos to see the proper ue of the Israeli method.
The clear statistic here is "Unintentional firearm injuries account for 37% of nonfatal firearm injuries" according to a 2017 study. That's insane, that ~40% of people shot nonfatally in the US were shot without such intent. For example, in 2019 486 Americans died from these. A lot of these are preventable, and yes, a bullet in the chamber MAY be quicker, but the risk isn't necessarily worth the reward. How many legitimate gun owners (non-crime affiliate) had to defend themselves with a gun? Just PLAYING with a loaded gun is absolutely insane, and yet this is the most common circumstances for these sometimes fatal cases.
Have become older (59) and much more conservative. Agree the time saved is negligible for the safety gained. Switching to Israeli carry for CCW. Yes, I have a Kydex holster in the appendix position with the trigger guard covered. Need to practice.
I’d like to see an actual trained combat soldier compare the two. There was a lot incorrect with the dude in this video’s technique. If you know a specific method, then use that method because training will always trump speed regardless of scenario.
You have no idea I what you’re talking about, training the Israeli method is much safer and will try proper training will draw load and shoot as quick as the American way
😁 In Australia, a kangaroo will try and entice you or dog etc into water and will try to drown you, especially dogs. They will also rip your guts open if it is peeved off, protecting or feeling harassed or surprised or hormonal and won't or can't get well away. Have a great day from Australia 🦘🦘🦘
What to do when your hands are taped/strapped etc behind your back? Another, if you are tired to a post or pole or chair? Thank you for your vids 👍 some of them really make me smile 😉😁 Which country are you currently in? We are surprisingly heavily regulated here, even to the point where the powers that be posted publicly they can delete our social media postings or even change what is written without our consent or knowledge if they don't agree or like it 😱🤬🤬🤯 They did that about 2 yrs ago. Love to see the personal defence vids, keeping safe, getting out of bad situations. Have a great day from Australia 🦘🦘🦘
I’m in Canada, so just slightly less regulated lol, Pole you’ll need to create friction by moving it up and down, with pressure perpendicular to the pole, it will eventually give, Tied behind your back you need to inflate your hands a bit, usually by taking a big breath and expanding your arms and rounding your wrists, then when you’re alone try to extend your arms so you can get your legs through, moving the tied hands forward, then continue normally. If that’s not possible find something that has some friction and rub it up and down, eventually it will give. Both zip-ties and duct tape are strong if you pull on the intended direction, but fairly weak at 90 degree of that.
I cant take a guy seriously who keeps saying “cock a round into the chamber”. You cock the action, you chamber a round and NDs arent an issue on the draw if you keep your booger hook straight and high until youre ready to fire!
You just compared Israel military training to American civilian statstics? So thats your first strike. Your second strike is what happens if you have been shot in your off hand or youre fighting off an attacker and cant chamber a round. Your thrid strike if your shooting posture. It's horrible and you look like a woman shooting. Nobody with this posture should be talking or comparing military or police tactics.
I find the psychology and what people accept as their "baseline" to be a fascinating topic. What stands out in any given crowd, of course, depends on the crowd and what they'll accept depends on not only where they're from but where they're at - they may be rioting uptown but be from the outskirts, for instance, and there could be two completely different socioeconomic cultural dynamics at play (or more)! Stay safe out there y'all!
