DrumSkull Drums is the world's leading percussion shop rooted in the music of West Africa. For almost two decades we have offered professional instruments of uncompromised quality. We remain true to our goals and we continue to expand on our focus of quality and community. Our inspiration is a culmination of over thirty years of West African & Congolese drum and dance education felt strong in the bay area of California. As students of this music, we feel extremely fortunate to have the respect and support of so many influential teachers throughout the US and in Africa.
I have to say that your response to the inquiry about how to do the wrap by @torreshughes802 is just PATHETIC! Trade secrets really? How UNKIND and NOT in the spirit of the drum community. You should be ashamed! Dude it's SOOO easy.. try a few times and go with your gut. You'll need a total of clore to hundred or more feet I believe depending on the drum but you can measure this yourself. You can tuck from one wrap color to the other or knot along the way and at top and bottom...so from the head to the bottom. .
It's amazing how many of these native drummers are on You Tube. Equally amazing is the fact that they all sound virtually the same. I can only figure that it takes very little talent to do that.
After seeing this I never.a fan of hers. Clear tones and her technique is awesome. I'm so glad to see my sista's emerging as djembefola's. Her relaxed poised Deming is swagger all the way. I love all of those beautiful sunshine smiles
that drum already sold, but there's more on our website, and we have new shipment coming in so we can build you a custom djembe. As for coming to the shop call us and make an appointment to make sure we're there to receive you if you're coming in from long distance whether traveling by car or plane. All the best.
