It makes me proud of America having helped South Korea to gain and maintain their precious freedom since WWII and the Korean conflict. As always America stands for freedom and democracy and willing to help the world.
Africa needs access to intellectual properties so Africa can build the infrastructure to support farming technologies. Africa needs to mechanize its agricultural infrastructure to reduce its food production cost.❤ Africa
Wow! I am so glad I stumbled on this video! I am a Korean American BTS fan - Army! I have recently embraced my Korean ness after shying away from it for so long. Along with Prof. Richards, I realized and appreciate how amazing Korea is. It is a country about the size of Indiana (US state) and was recently one of the poorest in the world after the Korean War now is a global economic powerhouse! Additional is now a cultural phenomenon with BTS and K-Pop, with K-Drama and "Parasite" (Oscar - Best Picture), K- Food with Korean bbq, K - Beauty (Koreans have the best skin in the world). Korea is also a global phenomenon in finance with companies like Samsung and Hyundai. Plus, in sports Korea finished 4th in the world in the World Cup - (2002), Son Heung-min is a Korean world-class footballer, plus half the top 10 in the LPGA tour are Korean women! Koreans are the most highly educated people in the world with unparalleled work ethics! The Korean culture is all about family and respectfulness to others. A whole lot can be learned from how Korea was able to rise to the global ranks it now resides. All that being said, it is not all sunshine and rainbows. Korea has the highest suicide rate in the world and lowest fertility rate. It is quite evident that Korea's future generation is in big big trouble! But for now! Korea is awesome!
Very knowledgeable panel of guests and brilliant host. I’m very impressed with the overall approach of Korea to dealing with Africa as partnerships rather than the savior attitude often exhibited by European countries. Europeans have exploited Africa for centuries and there’s very little positive development in Africa to show as dividends. Not surprising that many African countries have shifted their focus to Asia. There’s an obvious respectful attitude by everyone on the show towards Africa and they’ve clear understanding that at some point Korea was in the same economic position as Africa. There’s so much that Africa and Korea can benefit from this gathering. I’m hopeful that Korea and Africa will mutually benefit from new trade and investments from now and into the future.
