That is a good question I am not sure they were any deeper than that - the recreation staff ran a lot of games in them and I recall there were a lot of smaller kids using both of the deep pools that were near the beach
We had a room that had a balcony overlooking the courtyard. Initially we were disappointed we didn’t have an outside view but we realized these rooms overlooking the courtyard are really sheltered from the noise out on the street
@@larrymathieson5985 that sounds super convenient and exactly what I’m looking for! 😊 It’ll be our first time in PDC so being centrally located and able to walk around is a must! We will do a few nights here before going to a typical all inclusive resort in Cancun. For PDC I want a hotel that is still 5 star but affordable and from your video, this looks perfect 👍🏼
This trip was near the end of April - we also went to Dreams Macao Beach in this area this past January both were pretty good times of year to go to Punta Cana
It is not very long- you start hitting the edge of the town site in 15- 20 minutes walking up the beach - another 10 minutes or so of walking takes you as far in as the Bucerias sign
It was really quite good- we like to go to Mexico as much as we can so we’re thinking Mexican in the DR it can’t be too authentic -we were pleasantly surprised . And the service was top notch
I got a preferred club JS swim out room does that come with all the access included or there is still some areas/restaurants not included? I heard there’s a restaurant that has breakfast and lunch i think it was but only for certain rooms.
The family rooms were bigger nicer and newer. They were great when our kids and grandchildren were with us. The pool areas were great. We didn’t use the adult pool at all. The adult rooms were much closer to the buffet and the beach. They did have the monkeys too. That is hard to compete with
It is pretty safe. We walked down to the nearby grocery stores. PV is a cab ride away but we did quite a bit of walking around. The Malecon is pretty busy at night lots of people and families walking around. We did quite a bit of walking around the romantic zone at all times of night and day. Be safe and stick to areas where there are a lot of people around
Yes in ideal traffic over the last two trips to the resort we have realized time of day can make a huge difference in taxi/Uber time to PV One of our unfortunate trips was over 2 hours from the resort to the Malecon. Mosts\ trips to or from were somewhere between 20 and 40 minutes
They weren’t. However they just finished a massive renovation of the whole resort. I think they are walk in now but we haven’t been back since they reopened last month.
You can book tours and excursions at the hotel. Playa Del Carmen and Tulum are not to far away. Cabs are expensive on this side of Mexico but the public transport is cheap if you are adventurous.
I don’t remember how much the cab was. The front desk told us how much was standard. Cabs on this side are way way cheaper than the Cancun /Mayan Riviera side
We went in October - the seaweed was not too bad. They did a lot of work on the beach. We enjoyed the resort and did lots of long walks on the beach. You can walk for miles
The entertainment area is a nice open air venue. Our son and law took the older kids to the show one night and he said it was great. The kids got photos with the performers
I like this resort. It seems like Reno’s in the bathrooms would be a great idea -maybe modernize the suites a little bit. It should all be good. However I have also seen resorts try to modernize and take all the charm out of the place. Hope that doesn’t happen here
Most of the resorts I travel to I do a review on RU-vid. I don’t really care if they plan to do renovations in a month or in ten years -I just review them when I am there. If it is a benefit to someone this week or next year I am happy to put them up on the channel
The Vallarta probably had to be the most popular resort of the three Riu s in the area. Certainly the video on the Vallarta is getting the best traction of the three. The food at the Vallarta was good. If you are bringing your family there for a nice vacation you will probably be happy with the offerings. If you are a real foodie, l might spend a little more and go 10 mins up the beach to the Riu palace. The offerings there are a lot better
Well technically in Mexico it is illegal to have a private beach as the constitution gives access to all citizens to all beaches. In some cases it is difficult to access a given beach without going thru a resort -but this beach you can walk for 29kms - and there are plenty of places to access the beach
Good thorough video, but there seems to be a problem with the audio that made it a bit difficult to stay focused on your commentary. Sometimes two voice overs at once, and other times the background sounds are louder than the voice overs. Thanks for recording your experience.
Natural pool is what they called it, sand bar is in a lake I think, we have a sand bar at our lake cottage 👍 We loved this experience, it’s paradise for sure
That is a really good question. I remember that the elevators in both the Jalisco and the Riu Palace went all the way down to the dining area and there were ramps to the pool level. I only took the stairs down at the Vallarta. I had assumed to elevators up to the rooms also went down to the main/ground level. Sorry that I am not being that helpful. There is a really active Facebook group Riu Vallarta Mexico. Usually if you ask a question on this group people will answer really quickly
@@larrymathieson5985no problem. I’ve already been there and found out everything: the elevator lower you to the ground floor, and then there is a descent path . Similarly, the entrance to the pool and the beach
I think it was Privileged junior suite. It wasn’t yet renovated with the modern furniture. However the ‘privileged’ feature gave us access to everything and the access to the BLoved restaurant alone was worth it
@@larrymathieson5985 oh yes I have learned from my all inclusive travels to always upgrade. Totally worth it to me! Thanks for responding so quickly even though it’s an older video. This resort is at the top of my list for July, so I’m binge-watching reviews on it! Thanks for yours!
@@dawnweissling5623 we loved it. We went years back and had to return. It is a smaller resort which we like and it really has quite a following of loyal repeat guests. There are a few Facebook groups the majority of the comments seem to be from raving fans
From the family suites it is a bit of a hike. There is a golf cart train that regularly will give you a lift down there. The pools down by the beach are worth the work. Have a great vacation
The resort is right on the beach. However the resort is huge. The adult only rooms a a quick walk to the beach. The family rooms are the other side of the resort so with small children it would take us 15 minutes to walk thru the resort to the beach. They did however have a golf cart train that takes you all over the resort
