Hey Andy, I saw No Signal at the Indie Flicks showing in Cambridge this week - just wanted to give you a shout and say how much I enjoyed it on the big screen - awesome work. Are you working on anything new at the mo? :)
The sound could've been a lot better using boom or lapel mics or for that matter using a sound recorder on the laptops and syncing it up later but cool short otherwise. Good concept and production quality was good as well as the acting. Hope you do more:)
Just ordered this filter ! 1/8 was worry it may be to soft ? But it looked great. I felt the 1/4 could be to much in some scenarios. So.. are u happy with ur filter ?
ok, you are given a ring that allows you to go back in time. It seems that you can only go back 4 days? no control or settings on the ring, so you put it on and travel. Question , if you could go back in time , when and where would you go to and why ? would you go back to 1920 and kill adolf hitler ?
I believe from the "many universes" theory that there are doubles of us. Depending on what actions we take as individuals keeps us in the direction of one dimension. But if one of me is still grieving the fact that President Kennedy was shot maybe there's another me in another dimension where he wasn't shot. I also think about this "Schroedinger's Cat" theory. On a molecular level protons sometimes disappear and then reappear somewhere else or they're just both there together. With the cat we are told that you can look in the box and see a dead cat. There maybe occasions where you open the box to see the cat alive. But this is the part that gets me: I guess it was Schroedinger who said at times you will look in the box and the cat will be both dead and alive. That stumped me. How could a cat be dead and alive at the same time?
Quantum mechanics uses a lot of words that don't mean what normal people think they mean. To observe doesn't mean to watch. It means to hit the particle with another one so you can measure the way in which the particle rebounds so you can tell where the particle was located. Imagine you have a pool table. You have the white ball and can only see the white ball. You can see when the white ball moves, it's direction, speed and position. You can see when it bounces (changes direction or speed). When that happens near the edge, it's the side. When that happens anywhere else, there was a particle and you "observe" that there was a particle. You can derive the speed, direction and mass of the other ball based on the speed and direction change of your white ball. Quantum mechanics could be so much easier... So, no, particles don't care about your eyes. Particles just behave like normal things. You're hitting and kicking things around, they call that "observation", go figure. Other words: spin is not how something rolls. It could have been called color, so instead of up, down, charm, strange... Black, white, green, magenta... Or numbers 123456 Particle/wave behavior: it's just comparing that they "seem to look like" those. Not what they are. Others: measurement, observer, superposition is one state, particles...
Since the Schroedinger's Cat experiment is just a thought experiment, you can't see the cat both alive and dead. That is a figurative way of explaining superposition, for example, an electron could be both at 2 different charged levels but the moment you measure it's charge... it falls into just one of both. Even if you had a dead/alive cat, the moment you measure it's vital signs it will fall into dead or alive, not both. And, no, protons don't dissapear, that would change an element. If you have gold, either adding or removing a proton would get you mercury or platinum. That doesn't happen. Protons don't dissappear nor escape nor get captured inside an atom nucleus. Fission, on the other hand, uses neutrons. Fussion happens at extremely high pressures and temperatures, when there are no electrons (extreme simplification here). None of these things happen to everyday atoms at room temperature. Be careful of pseudoscience that gets to quantum mechanics to try to prove things that are just fiction :-D

@@richard6440 I have no idea what those are. Also, I thank you for translating, but I went back to that part of the video and still couldn't understand what they were saying even knowing the words. Their colloquial language is different from the form of English I use, therefore I was still unable to comprehend what they were saying.
But she isn't "fixing" any mistakes - it just takes so many days to finish her coursework essays, she has to keep looping back to gain enough time. She's not fixing it, it's the same continuous draft. :)
can't she just clone herself on the same day and finish the essays simultaneously (1 & 2 work on essay 1, 2&3 work on essay 2, and so on)instead of continuously looping in to finish it linearly which takes longer from her perspective
