You could add a usb hub with an rj45 to your G2. That way you can not only control your G2 (and atem) with any pc, but you can also FTP your files of the SSD connected to the hub. Meaning you never have to remove the usb from the camera ever again in a static setup. An alternative solution is a BMD SDI/HDMI converter the bi directional one also relays commands from your HDMI to your G2 SDI. Bit more expensive but still very doable
Excellent review, thanks! For what it's worth, you can remove that handle and re-mount it facing the other direction, then you can turn your camera around and the quick release plate mount screw won't block the battery door.
What a fantastic channel! I just discovered it and I find the attention to detail, the sound, editing, lighting, and matter of factness more than refreshing. I suspected you would have million subs, but when I checked I was surprised! Well you got a new one! Carry on sir!
My absolute favorite YT channel. You are a total gem. Your explanations are simple, exact and helpful to anyone looking to rent or purchase equipment, From lenses to cameras, lights and grips, you are really good at showing and explaining every detail that matters. Thank you Alan. You are my favorite RU-vidr. Keep the videos coming.
Blackmagic recently added option for webcam streaming directly over USB to PC in BMPCC4K so I could put my ATEM to rest. Thanks to that I regained some space on my desk, freed one outlet and uncluttered cable mess. For static single camera setups operated by hand it is a great solution. So long live Blackmagicdesign! I wonder if this camera can do the same. Nonetheless, I would buy it as it is so tiny and mighty. Cheers!
I love the gunmetal finish, but unfortunately, on a camera rig I would want all black to blend in. This makes it stand out. Not a fan in the end. But I do love the hawklock system. Really good!
This is literally the best video on a DAS on RU-vid I have seen and I’ve watched like 20 hours. Everyone else says “I’ve had this for 24 hours and we love it. It can hold hard drives.” Everyone else is getting paid by Synology. You even covered using Disk Utility for software RAID. Bravo, and thanks!
