I’m so glad you made this video, I’ve lost all my confidence in my tumbling because of the twisties. I hope to overcome it some day but I feel much better knowing that elite gymnasts like yourself also struggle with this
Hey Nile, my father was 118lbs when my parents got married. I have no idea what that is in kilograms, but he was 5'6". And he could do backflips like no tomorrow. So it's probably true that gymnasts are naturally smaller.
After I had been a gymnast I got into diving. One day when doing a 1.5 backward layout with1.5 twists, I twisted too early and jumped off the 3m board somewhat sideways and ended up hitting the water two feet from the pool's edge. I saw everybody's white faces when I got out and realized I had almost jumped out of the pool. Diving wasn't the same after that. Unless the board was a looong way from the pool edge, I just couldn't do it anymore...
I was a gymnast in high school and although I competed only at a regional level I too experienced the twisties for a brief period of time. It occured when I learned to add a twist to my backflips. I picked it up real fast on floor, no problem, but then when I also added the twist to my uneven bars dismount, suddenly my brain got confused and I could no longer do it on floor. I'd stop rotating after half a twist or go 1.5 twists and land facing forward, not knowing how I got there. Only when I gave up on the troublesome bars dismount did the ol' brain click back into gear and my twists went back to normal. I can only imagine what it's like for someone like Simone, who does 3 twists with 2 backflips up there. I can't even fathom how she does it.
I’m 65 and I would have loved to do gymnastics when I was younger. Handstands and cartwheels were all we did and I loved it. I desperately wanted to learn to tumble but we didn’t have the opportunity. When I tried to do things with friends in the playground we all ended up bumped and bruised with sprains and grazes. We used the top of the swings to swing from and practise landing. Ankle twists and banged heads. We thought if we swung really high on the swing we would reach a height where we could do turns snd twists when we jumped off but it didn’t work. I hope you can reach all the kids who want to do gymnastics as much as we did.
Ashley kept turning around to talk and i was freaking out because he was in the drivers seat!!! Lol until i saw the csrs backwards snd Luke's driving!! Omgee 😂😂😂
You asked for help and got it because you are famous, rich, and had a valuable image/brand. Not everyone has even 0.000001 % of what you have. They’ll get NO help.
Does anyone know the name or handle for that guy who did the side somi and the switch half to one arm bhs on beam? If he can put all those skills together in a routine, could have one of the highest DV beams lol
Hearing your story and others in the comments has given me a newfound respect for high level athletes and athletes in general… i didn’t realize injuries this severe were so common! To keep doing the sport after those kind of extreme injuries must take a lot of determination…
I'd love to meet you Nile!!! You'd be a great buddy for me to do and share things with man to man!!! You're quite a stunning man to man inspiration on me too!!!
Keep aluminium foil away from food. It's a heavy metal that's toxic to the brain and causes Alzheimer's. Eddie could in all reality drop about 15% of his calories.
I love watching all the videos all the old ones are funny to watch. I just started watching all of you guys a few months ago and I have been watching all the time.
